Ok the regular season is over, now for the playoffs. Here are the 8 matchups and my predictions.

East

[No.1] Boston Bruins VS [No.8] Montreal Canadiens - A close series but Boston wins in 7.

[No.2] Washington Capitals VS [No.7] New York Rangers - New york can't match the caps scoring, Washington wins in 5.

[No.3] New Jersey Devils VS [No.6] Carolina Hurricanes - Carolina wins in 6.

[No.4] Pittsburgh Penguins VS [No.5] Philadelphia Flyers - Pittsburgh wins in 6.

West

[No.1] San Jose Sharks VS [No.8] Anaheim Ducks - San Jose wins in 7 (I was tempted to say Anaheim due to San Jose's playoff performances).

[No.2] Detriot Red Wings VS [No.7] Columbus Blue Jackets - The inexperienced Blue jackets get swepped 4-0 be Detriot.

[No.3] Vancouver Canucks VS [No.6] St Louis Blues - I think Luongo will be the main reason the 'nucks win this series in 7.

[No.4] Chicago Blackhawks VS [No.5] Calgary Flames - Chicago wins in 6.

Thoughts anyone?

Go Penguins

East

[No.1]Boston Bruins VS [No.8] Montreal Canadiens - Bruins in 5

[No.2] Washington Capitals VS [No.7] New York Rangers - Caps in 6.

[No.3] New Jersey Devils VS [No.6] Carolina Hurricanes - Devils in 7.

[No.4] Pittsburgh Penguins VS [No.5] Philadelphia Flyers - Pens in 7.

[No.3] Vancouver Canucks VS [No.6] St Louis Blues - Canucks in 7

[No.4] Chicago Blackhawks VS [No.5] Calgary Flames - Blackhawks in 6

East

[No.1] Boston Bruins VS [No.8] Montreal Canadiens - Bruins in 6. The Habs will not be able to fend off the Bruins grit and rugged style of play, and without Markov, I see the Bruins taking it, as much as that pains me as a Habs fan.

[No.2] Washington Capitals VS [No.7] New York Rangers - Capitals in 6. Too much firepower for the Rangers to handle. Only hope they have is if Theodore falls apart, which is still possible.

[No.3] New Jersey Devils VS [No.6] Carolina Hurricanes - Devils in 5. New Jersey's too stingy a team for the likes of the Hurricanes. Their newfound offense + Marty Brodeur = a short playoff for Carolina.

[No.4] Pittsburgh Penguins VS [No.5] Philadelphia Flyers - Flyers in 7. I think this one will go the distance but I'm not sold on Pittsburgh's depth. Their defense is also a concern IMO. Only reason it'll go to 7 is because of Philly's questionable goaltending.

West

[No.1] San Jose Sharks VS [No.8] Anaheim Ducks - Sharks in 5. San Jose is superior in every position to Anaheim. I hate predicting sweeps which is the only reason I said this will last 5 games.

[No.2] Detroit Red Wings VS [No.7] Columbus Blue Jackets - Blue Jackets in 7. Columbus played Detroit hard all year, including an 8-0 blowout, and if Osgood isn't on his game, then the Jackets will take this series. Detroit's other advantages are what will make this a 7 game series.

[No.3] Vancouver Canucks VS [No.6] St Louis Blues - Blues in 7. Another one that'll go the distance, but I think it's the Blues' perseverance that'll win out in the end. That and I'm not sold on Vancouver's resilience.

[No.4] Chicago Blackhawks VS [No.5] Calgary Flames - Blackhawks in 5. This is almost as much a no-brainer as SJ/ANA. The Flames are missing 2 of their top 3 defensemen in Regehr and Sarich, and the Hawks have utterly dominated the Flames all season. Hawks could very well get the sweep here.

East

[No.1] Boston Bruins VS [No.8] Montreal Canadiens - Boston in five.

[No.2] Washington Capitals VS [No.7] New York Rangers - Washington in six.

[No.3] New Jersey Devils VS [No.6] Carolina Hurricanes - New Jersey in seven.

[No.4] Pittsburgh Penguins VS [No.5] Philadelphia Flyers - Pittsburgh in five.

I know, my East predictions looks a bit lazy, picking all four top seeds, but the only real threat to that is Carolina. Despite Cole and Staal doing extremely well, the Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner line and a good series from Brodeur should seal the deal, even after seven games. Pittsburgh and Boston are just too good and will roll over the other teams, while the Capitals inexperience will cost them a couple of games, but never really a threat to their victory.

West

[No.1] San Jose Sharks VS [No.8] Anaheim Ducks - San Jose in six.

[No.2] Detriot Red Wings VS [No.7] Columbus Blue Jackets - Detroit in five.

[No.3] Vancouver Canucks VS [No.6] St Louis Blues - St. Louis in seven.

[No.4] Chicago Blackhawks VS [No.5] Calgary Flames - Chicago in six.

The Ducks and Blue Jackets will make their series a challenge, and even in six and five games respectively, it will be close every match. St. Louis will rely on superb goaltending from Mason and clutch goals from underrated players to win in seven. Critical defensive mistakes from Calgary will cost them against a very talented and young team in Chicago.

East

[No.1] Boston Bruins VS [No.8] Montreal Canadiens - Boston in 6, I see two very close games from Boston and Montreal, and them able to pull off two, but Boston finds new resolve and shuts out Montreal in Game Six.

[No.2] Washington Capitals VS [No.7] New York Rangers - I see Ovechkin dominating on a very unstable New York Rangers. Caps in 5

[No.3] New Jersey Devils VS [No.6] Carolina Hurricanes - Carolina doesn't have the same amount of motivating that Jersey has, I see very bad games played by the Hurricanes and the Devils take it away. Devils in 4.

[No.4] Pittsburgh Penguins VS [No.5] Philadelphia Flyers - Flyers in 7.

West

[No.1] San Jose Sharks VS [No.8] Anaheim Ducks - Sharks in 6.

[No.2] Detriot Red Wings VS [No.7] Columbus Blue Jackets - Blue Jackets in 5.

[No.3] Vancouver Canucks VS [No.6] St Louis Blues - Blues in 7.

[No.4] Chicago Blackhawks VS [No.5] Calgary Flames - Not real sure, I have some personal bias on this one as I hate the Blackhawks with a passion, and I really want the Flames to pick this one up in a game seven win, and an early knockout next round due to the team falling apart after game seven and not being able to get it back till it's too late.

Way to go Vancouver! They did pretty good. Hope they do good in the next round as well.

As for the Habs, sucks they didn't go farther...I had a feeling they wouldn't, but I was hoping they would pull it together and win. And I feel bad for Price as well. ..

And the Flames did great! Great game, and now 2-2. Now if only they can keep it up when playing away from home...

As much as I cheer for my Rangers being the underdog and defeating the Capitals (and then it will be the Bruins), I desperately do not want Sean Avery to hoist the Stanley Cup. He nearly cost the Rangers the game today with two dumb penalties, and that idiot shouldn't be in the league anyway.
