Windows 7 build 7082

Recommended Posts

It seems as though it might not have been intentionally covered. Some of the screenshots which don't contain a build number have the watermark in the lower right. Seems to be the default location for the watermark on their images. :ermm:

As stupid as it is pcbeta always sticks their logos in lower right corner, so it doesnt automatically mean it fake, if thats what you were wondering. But anyway - no big point of this considering its Chinese... again. I dont see myself messing with homemade packs unless thers some huge changes (althou seeing old superbar buttons back is nice its not enough). Also the fact that rc is really close.

I really do hope they do something about the taskbar prior to final realease - it's not ergonomic at all.

And what would you like the see tho it wont matter but what exactly would ya want cause the new taskbar is far more advanced then the past taskbars witch have all been the same since windows 95 with very little change

"Clearly"??? Hardly. After squinting a bit and mashing my face to the monitor, yeah. It appears to be 7082. But that's not the point. Why cover it in the fist place? Completely stupid.

You'll notice that clearly was wrapped in " marks. It was covered because that's where the watermark always gets put.

What do you mean? After using the taskbar in 7, it's VERY hard to use anything else. I've found that I get work done quicker and find the window I'm looking for with no problem. Can't say the same about the old taskbar, which I've had a recent experience where the new taskbar sure as hell would have been a great help. I love the fact that it looks clean even if I do have crap loads of windows open.

Highly unlikely it'll be changed now, not that there's anything better atm to change it to anyway.

Anyone who thinks the taskbar icon glow has been changed since 7077 are wrong and need to look closer at the screenshots. You can clearly tell by the border effects on the opened windows shown that the user simply clicked on an empty space on the desktop before taking the screenshot.

Doing this changes the border effect of the opened windows and the taskbar icon to a clearer effect until you either click on the taskbar icon or the opened window which will return it back to it's normal state.

Next time you have a window open in 7077 click on an empty space on the desktop and see what happens to the taskbar icon.

Uh no. If the user would have clicked the desktop the window wouldn't be focused as they are and all the buttons would look exactly the same. Foggier windows, red close caption, etc give it away that it's fully in the foreground AND focused. You're wrong.

Still cool either way, but its nothing to jump and down about. I just wonder how this compares to the RC and if we might see the *new UI* in the RC or not. I mean I know its only said to be in RTM builds, but hope springs eternal. My only question is how the hell are the Chinese getting ahold of these leaks left and right?

Ok I didn't see that the WMC window was fully focused but on a lightish wallpaper like that it's hard to tell if it's different or not. I highly doubt it's been changed since 7077 as 7077 onwards in the winmmain_win7rc branch is code frozen meaning only bug fixes are being worked on not UI or feature changes. Time will tell though.

That "new UI" is just a rumour and I expect it to stay that way. Remember the RC was suppose to be relased on the 10th of April but looked what happened there. Don't listen to rumour.

Oh I know it's a rumor, and whether it gets a new UI, well I could care less. I'm just happy with the performance thus far, and the Aero still looks good to me. With the other tweaks to make explorer more color neutral, I honestly think that's enough.

I have to admit I haven't used it so I can't comment at all on it's functionality. Based on nothing else but screenshots I feel the new bar looks a bit flat and chunky, it's not pleasing to look at in the slightest.

I know this concept really pushes the way Apple do their iteration of a dock but if we pretend for a moment that Mac OS X doesn't exist, this would be an incredibly awesome way of implementing it:

I strongly believe the Superbar is way superior in every aspect then OSX's dock.I love OSX and i have OSX86 installed on 3 pc's but when it comes to superbar VS Dock i have to admit MS has done a gr8 job with it.Beautiful to see, simple to use, ergonomic, very tidy and fast enough. :)

I wouldnt want to see that superbar on 7's final release and i hope MS keeps it the way it is.

Okay I shall trust you experienced Win7 users! I wish I had the time to install the beta right now but got so much work to do! AGH! :pinch:

That's the same thing, only it has zooming icons...

Quite true!

Doesn't seem like it. We would've seen more screenshots or a new thread about it by now.
