Velociraptor does not score too well.

actually for a single non raid0 HDD thats pretty good unless your using some fancy smancy raid card with built in processor and a big ram cache your not likely to see much better than this for a spinning disk

Heh - If I had 2 vraptors in RAID 0 what kind of score should I expect? - Right now I only have 1 vraptor, and I get 5.9????

Yes, the HD score is still messed up :pinch:

A vast range of HDs get 5.9, with no differentiation at all. Raid probably won't improve that score - or get you 6.0 at most

Graphics (for Aero) is still broken, too. I wonder when they will fix these issues in WinSat

I'm with you on this. Even if he's got the best commercially available hardware in that rig, I would highly doubt that a perfect 7.9 can be obtained considering there's no DX11 video card out there. It's like saying you got a perfect 5.9 with a DX9 card in Vista. I smell racing stripes on a horse.

Hard drives are very slow overall compaired to ram and cpu. You need to make sure in these systems you use a Raid system of Striping with atleast 3 drives. I'd try to use 10,000 or 15,000 RPM drives and SAS if you can afford it. If not SATA 10k would work well.

running 7201 x86 on a fresh system build.

patriot viper ddr3 1333

very happy with scores except for the one that brought it down to a 5.9. grrrrr

For my desktop (using Win7 x64 RTM) :

Base score : 6,8

Processor : 7,2

Memory (RAM) : 7,2

Graphics : 6,8

Gaming graphics : 6,8

Primary hard disk : 7,0

And on my Macbook (boot camp), I score a 3,8 - poor Intel GPU inside....!

I'll add mine...

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate RTM

The specs are in the shots ;)

Insane that RAID doesn't offer any real increase in score.

My 2-year+ old build. This GeForce is roughly 3-years old and still plays all games I throw at it at max settings (except Crysis, of course :p ). Of course I overclocked the hell out of the CPU and the GPU but it's extremely stable.

Since no one has done it yet, i'll be the first.

Below are 4 WEI's of my mainly used PC/Laptop/Netbook, all of which are running Windows 7 Ultimate & Home Premium

Score 4.6 is my Sony Vaio VGX-TP3Z/B which is 18 months old

Score 4.1 is My Home Build PC which is 4 years old

Score 3.0 is my Sony Vaio VGN-NR38M which is 1 year old

Score 2.1 is my MSI Wind U100 which is 1 year old
