One word: Wicked!

One small detail: The top menu in Firebird cannot be seen.. it this a bug?

It's not a bug with the skin, more likely a compatability problem between Firebird and WindowBlinds.

@thornz0: Well......I had started working on finishing my Lunax skin for Trillian, as I had forgotten about Systronic........I'll start back on Systronic at the weekend,

Nope, no WB4 bug, all other skins work like a charm :)

I first thought you had zoomed this image by 2, but now it seems like you just have ENORMOUS FONTS

:D

Does 1600x1200 answer your question? :D

1600x1200? That doesn't matter. Your fonts shouldn't be that big. They should still be normal size and just have a larger screen resolution and more space.

"Shouldn't" is a big word.. I like them the way the are (14pt for titlebars, 12pt normal text for this resolution, i use smaller if i use 10x7 or 12x10). Easily readable and not straining the eye, since I spend quite a few hours in front of the screen. And no, I am not blind, 10/10 eyesight :)

10/10 eyesight .. So you only have one eye? standard is 20/20 vision, 10 points for each eye HeHe

LOL standard eyesight is 20/20 yes but thats standard not perfect, according to the measurment wich 20/20 comes from 0/0 is perfect.

so if he says he has 10/10 then his eyes sight is incrediable.

i personally have 15/17 and on average i can as sharply at 150ft farther than someone with 20/20 looking at the same thing

Heh, indeed :p Yep, you are right, as a whole it's 20/20 = perfect eyesight, mixed that up a bit :) As for the menus, I have a slight prob there (dyschromatopsia in Greek, dunno how it's called in English, it's when you cannot distinguish certain colour hues) so I can't see the white(?) letters even if i look carefully.

Did we derail from the topic or what...

I've come up with a work around for the menu text problem.

this fix only changes the menubar text color, so the drop down menu text is still white.

How'd you fix it? Just change the menu text colors?

In the Crystal skin the menubar fonts are supposed to be dark grey (or black, can't remember now) the drop down menus are supposed to have white text since they look fine against the blue background.

Firebird seems to be using the drop down menu font as it's color for the menubar, hence the white fonts. Once again I'll state it's not a bug with the skin since with any other window which has menubars and drop down menus the fonts are fine......it's just this one app which is causing the problems. Sorry to anyone who uses Firebird, but I'm not gonna make any changes to the skin, just for one app. If it was Internet Explorer then it would be a different matter since it's a vastly more popular app.

well with Firebird the user has the power to change pretty much any element of the interface by throwing some code into a userChrome.css file. then the browser reads that file and over rides the default settings. you would be amazed at just how much control you have over the look of Firebird. the themes i've made are a far cry from what is possible, i just haven't felt like learning all the elements of css.

as far as what color the menubar font is suppose to be it appears that IE, Windows Explorer, and OE all use a dark grey text. however other apps like notepad, paint, and pretty much any 3rd party app is using black for the menubar.

Firebird is very early in dev and is getting better all the time, as will it's ability to pick up the native os controls.

honz, i agree fully with your decision of not fixing this one bug, it's a pain updating the skins i've made every time the Dev's make changes with the layout.
