Chasethebase Reporter Posted November 12, 2009 Reporter Share Posted November 12, 2009 /\ lack of tmobile 3g coverage?? Haha alright, I'm in the UK so it's Vodafone for us, which have reasonably good 3G coverage. AbandonedTrolley
/\ lack of tmobile 3g coverage?? Surely that is T-Mobiles problem and not a problem with the phone? MiG-
I'm going to have to say that doesn't really explain a lot. Why did you hate it so much? I'd love to own one of these as it's the most affordable Android phone available new in the UK at the moment. HTC Hero is ?25 pm Unlimited EVERYTHING at the minute on T-Mobile, Free, 24 month contact. Loving my HTC Magic and I get a good deal on Vodafone, could do with Hardware Acceleration on the System Graphics and a better task manager. I think the former is coming with Android 2.5, god knows about the latter. Android lacks the good games that the iPhone does as well. The SDK is very poor in this regard. Scorbing
The phone feels amazing, MUCH better quality than any of the phones I manhandled in phone shops and 100x better than the Nokia 5800 - the screen itself feels like solid glass, has that cold solid feel to it. I have upgraded from a Sony Ericsson K800i and have had the new Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. The UI is very snappy, reminds me of Windows 7, the animations as each window slides and fades is fast and slick. The keypad is awesome too and responsive. Easy to type fast in both orientations. The Google Account integration is amazing, I can now keep my mobile contacts in Gmail under a contacts group I created called "Androidees" and tell the phone only to display these contacts. I love it, it really is an amazing phone to use as a communication tool, the settings seem to be very easy to set and use and gadgets will improve them further from the marketplace. I've not ventured into the other settings yet as I have to first get all my phonebook contacts into Gmail now :p I also really like the way the phone charges fast via USB, I am not going to use the plugin charger and just keep it in the car to take when travelling incase people I visit don't have a spare USB slot. Pics: It's MUCH smaller and lighter than you think when looking at PR photos, I have small hands for example and look how small it is. Amazed at how solid it's built though considering the size and weight! And back to mental age of 13 we go:p Edit* More pics: I'm sure you are excited about your new phone but even though it looks cool, it will never be an iPhone. Many have tried, all have failed to even come close. Not even Palm with their high tech Palm Pre has managed to do it. An iPhone is an iPhone, period. I am not saying Android phones are bad. I am sure they will get better with time, but so will Apple's iPhone. Android will always be 1 step behind. There is room for improvement. Just because the iPhone is awesome and almighty doesn't mean it's good value. It's an expensive phone with a horrible tarriff. ?35pm with ?100 up front for an 8Gb with 75 minutes and 125 texts?! This is ?20pm Free with 300 minutes and unlimited texts. Also it has expandable memory. No contest really. I'm not against the iPhone, and I'd love one. But it's just too expensive, this handset is much better cost wise. It isn't trying to be an iPhone, it's trying to be a good touchscreen phonThis/i> is trying to be an iPhone. Robbie Khan Reviews Posted November 19, 2009 Author Reviews Share Posted November 19, 2009 So if iPhone is so amazing then where's the Flash support for mobile iplayer/hulu/ etc? :D Oh yeah, Apple won't allow flash :) At present my Cyanogen 4.2.5 powered Android phone has more potential and features than an iPhone.
