Tpiom
They should have thought of this a long time ago... Every Windows user deserves a decent anti-virus sytem. I imagine that this will be pretty simple, for basic users and not advanced at all. So it can't act as a replacement to my current anti-virus program. MS is never gonna give away (free!) professional products.

They're never going to give away free professional products. Gotcha.
IT1Wolf
:D I love Windows One Care Anti-Virus. I've never had a virus or anything wrong with any of my machines that had a Microsoft OS. That's why I never understood why so many people complained about Microsoft. I need facts, not just basic griping. What gives? I was disappointed in hearing that One Care would be done with, and then excited that there would actually be a free anti-virus coming out from Microsoft at the end of the year. It was also super great that Microsoft extended my Windows One Care an extra 6 months past my renewal date. I have no arguments. I'm just looking forward to what Microsoft will come out with next. I especially liked the fact that you could go to Windows Live and use the Windows Live Safety Scanner to check my registery to see if anything came up, or to see what ports I may have accidently opened or even to scan my whole drive for anything unusual. How sweet is that? Very, I think. I'm happy. It's made many of my friends and family happy to know they can go somewhere if they think they have a problem and get it fixed without going through a whole ton of issues. grik
The problem with this is that virus makers will target specific this MS AV, i remmember it was like Norton 10years ago +- the only AV in the market, so it was easy to make fool out of him. I will stick with AVIRA also free at least for personal use
