Yeah he did. After the Champions League game.

Hasn't Portsmouth asked the leage to rethink while they look for financers?

not as far as I have heard because when they enter administration its a certain 9 point deduction

I just caught like 10 mins of it and I have to say West Ham are not playing poorly at all. Some impressive defending and good attempts at breaking through for an attack but it just shows that Arsenal are clearly here to walk away with 3 points...

Defending is all good but we need every point from every game, especially with the teams below us playing well.

Arsenal doing it the hard way once again. Last season we would have lost these kind of games, but not this season, that's good to see.

Pretty soft penalty for WHU, probably gonna have to play Song CB again next game then, with Vermaelens suspension. Campbell+Silvestre pair would be awful.

That could be a disaster.. as I said we must appeal Vermaelen's suspension.. 3 match ban is too much.. Birm and Wolves we can probably manage while we fight to get Vermaelen back but then come the Spurs game.. we must win that and with them in scoring form we need Vermaelen back..

It should be 1 match ban.

It wasn't a bad tackle or violent conduct.

That's what I read on Sky Sports.. its a 3 game ban.. I can't understand how that's fair..

Atkinson blows the final whistle to bring an entertaining game to a claose. Denilson's goal after just five minutes hinted that it would be a walk in the park for Arsenal but Vermaelen's sending off shortly before half-time spiced things up. Diamanti's penalty miss ultimately ensured the hosts had little to worry about with Fabregas settling the tie seven minutes from time, although the Gunners will certainly miss Vermaelen as he serves a three-match ban. The win puts Arsenal top of the table - one point ahead of Manchester united, who play Liverpool tomorrow.

Again.. 'Cmon Liverpool!

According to the rule books, it's a 1 match ban but there's an English bias against Arsenal so who knows what will happen. I admire that Vermaelen just quietly walked off. You won't get that from English players. Hopefully he can choose to serve that suspension in between the Champions League matchs against Barca. If I recall correctly, it's Wolverhampton.

Yeah 3 match bans are for violent conduct according to the rulebook. It should stay as a 1 match ban, as according to the Arsenal.com site anyway.

I was surprised to read that at Sky Sports coz thats what that thug got for breaking Ramsey's leg.. 1 game ban is normal though.. I think we can cope with that and Vermaelen will be fresh and ready for Barca..

Mascherano, Torres and Carragher, three players who are still on the pitch that shouldn't. Not to mention Gerrard. I do not know what Benitez does in the dark with the FA officials, but it ain't pretty.

Sending off 4 players. I'm glad you're not the ref. And I thought noone would have made a worse decision than that penalty. Looks like Ferguson's mind tricks is doing their magic to the referees.

It's 3 points, like the other wins. In terms of math this game is not more important than the others, but the symbolic victory, plus the fact that we're running for the title is always of bonus.

Ok, you don't even know the rules of the game... Nice.

No penalty... AhahahahAHah :|

Actually it wasn't. The tackle was outside the box and I commend Valencia for keeping his balance until he was inside. Great play by the winger. But that should have been a red card regardless. Valencia was goal bound with that move.

And Torres has become really petulant of late.. I'm not fancying Spain's chances any more.
