WZOR reports Build 7600 RTM ?

Recommended Posts

i just heard Winbeta has got their hands on the RTM, confirmed to be final and is being uploaded to all sorts of places right now.

Really? I don't see anything in their IRC channel stating this.

yes because there are only 32 parts and the last part is 50,322,624 bytes not 102,400,000

also the 32 parts correspond with earlier builds being about 3GB flat in size, your files adds another 250MB atleast.

isn't 7600 a little on the high side for the RTM build? That only leaves 400 numbers for the Win8 alpha and it took 600 to go from beta to RTM for win 7...

No it's not cause Windows XP Professional was 2600 build.

I do hope people keep an "open eye" for possible trojan infections and other malicious files that may be circulating around.

I can't understand why if it's RTM-ing now/tomorrow why Keys can't be released and it sold/properly available this week. What's the wait for Oct 22nd GA? I know rtm means to manufacturing but it's not gonna change code by oct so why not release it for sale now?

its to make sure OEM get their drivers, software, PCs ready

I call bull****.

Pics/Vids or it never happened.

Anyway, regardless of this - surely pirating this thing as soon as it hits the internetz is pointless because; lets say it is indeed RTM and the final version. Then some catastrophic bug is found - unlikely i know because lets face it; the geeks have been beta testing this since day1 it was officially announced - but still, MS will announce it officially tomorrow, but then between now and Oct more versions will come out that have bug fixes, patches etc; so you may aswell wait till October!

Someone explain to me why pirating this tonight, or whenever the RTM is announced - is a smart idea, ignoring the moral implications of course; given that there 3 months between now and final.

If this is RTM then Microsoft sure as hell was Blind and Deaf when it came to the UI.

Unfinished Icons:

Changed a few here and there, the rest is still Vista.

Unfinished GUI:

Made some tweaks in the taskbar and start menu, the rest is still Vista

Wow! I really was expecting to see new Icons and a new Theme at the least.

I guess will have to wait for Windows 8 to be the show stopper.

There are pictures throughout the thread moron. I'm not saying they're real, but at least look through the thread.

The theme is already different.

Who said anything about pirating. Most of us here are buying an upgrade or have already pre-ordered. The advantage of downloading the leaked RTM is to simply start using it right away rather than sticking with the RC for a couple more months.

But, you are wrong in mentioning they will have more builds between now and the Oct release. Any bugs between now and release will be channeled through Windows Update. The unfortunate reality all software businesses have to deal with these days is hackers almost always find a way to cheat the system when it comes to pirating.

Why are you complaining about how a lot of it is "still Vista"? I guess you're unaware of how similar Vista and 7 are, although a lot of the 7 fanboys are in denial about that which makes me laugh.

With all due respect, do you even know what RTM means? When it's been signed off as RTM, that's it, it will not see any further changes. The RTM build (whether 7600.16384 is it it not, who knows..) is EXACTLY the same as what you'll be able to buy in October.

oke, I see it's being uploaded to usenet right now (incomplete). The ISO has the following info:

7600.16384.090710-1945_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso

Size: 3.224.717.312

And I can see it was added into it's rar file on the 11th of July. So I suspect it to be a fake.

The iso in the set of rar archives that people are getting from other sources is also dated the 11th of july - why would it be a fake? The build was compiled on the 10th of July and the iso itself is dated the 11th, that's nothing to be cautious of.

Well, then we just wait till it's uploaded. Finally a proper leak though, if it's real. Usenet is the best way to spread a build. Once it's on usenet it will be around the world in no time. Torrent-spreading is kinda amateuristic, and not efficient.

XP to Vista was a night and day difference.

Vista to Windows 7 is Basically a slight Vista Upgrade.

Which is basically what I said. Vista and 7 aren't TOO different, so when the 7 fanboys go on about how great 7 is and how terrible Vista is, I can't help but laugh, or facepalm, depending on who has the most ridiculous comment.

Anyways, I'll hold out hope that 7600 is RTM and that it'll be leaked soon enough.
