KriLL3
OMG, it doesn't work on my FF. :(( Oops, though it needed Fission, turns out it needs TMP https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122 If there is some other addon that adds load bars to tabs I could most likely modify it to work with those as well. r0bc
One more glitch that I noticed. As you can see from the screenshot below, there are a couple of miscoloured pixels just to the left of the Back/Forward buttons P.S. They are not dead pixels on my monitor, they move as I move my Firefox window around the screen. Sorry to bump up this old post, but I have the answer: the two weird pixels are generated for an unknown reason by FoxTab. They appear whatever theme you install, though on the default one only the black pixel is visible, since the white one ends up on a part of the interface that is already white. It seems nobody knows about it, there is only one review of FoxTab (made last February, now on page 22 of the reviews of the addon) mentioning it. I sent an email to FoxTab support on the weekend, let's see if they come up to something. If anybody has any idea how to get rid of them it would be great. Weirder still, the two pixels disappear when FoxTab is displayed and don't reappear until you close it... at what time several seconds elapse before the white pixel appears, then, after a few more seconds, the black one appears also. This happens even if you do nothing and don't touch either mouse or keyboard, just wait. BoneyardBrew Member Posted September 14, 2009 Author Member Share Posted September 14, 2009 Ok. I just figured that since all the other buttons were lighter that it was overlooked. That's true. SMELTN
I think it may be because they were highlighting over the Tools button :p I think it should be lighter color to blend in with the others, then go dark when highlighted, but that's just my 2? dert07
I think it may be because they were highlighting over the Tools button :p I think it should be lighter color to blend in with the others, then go dark when highlighted, but that's just my 2? If you look at Version B - Tabs-on-Top, the tools and page button have the same greyish look. So it's definitely not just the hover state. Everybody has a different liking but we are trying to stick to the style seen in the mockup. We also don't always really like the style of some buttons or backgrounds but it's a theme based on the mockups so we're trying to make it that style. Still, thank you for the feedback. The current images could need a bit of work but it's not easy to make them look exactly like the mockup. So if you find any other images that don't look good, just tell us. But be sure to counter-check the mockups first. Robbie Khan Reviews Posted September 15, 2009 Reviews Share Posted September 15, 2009 Well all this timeI've been toying with different back/fwd button placement not liking any of them as the small sized icons looks ugly and large size odd against the smaller standard icons until I found out that clicking the history icon itself presents back/fwd items anyway and the right click history of it is listed immediately below it - now I can get rid of the back/fwd buttons altogether! Perfect! Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/800684-firefox-37-mockup-redux-theme/page/24/#findComment-591579144 Share on other sites
KriLL3
Here is more more information from the people working on the 3.7/4.0 proposals: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox/Sprints/Wi...on_and_Feedback I wonder if we should continue to mix 4.0 elements into the current theme? or if it would be better to have 2 themes, one for 3.7 and one for 4.0 (though a lot of 4.0 effects like tabs in the titlebar etc aren't possible currently) My personal vote would be to try and stay as true to the 3.7 mockup as possible in one theme and the 4.0 one in another. In light of the new information on the mockups I'm working on some additional improvements to the Redux3 theme using userstyles etc, the first is that I've hidden the tab progress line on the active tab (I though that might be the way it worked since having it on the tab and on the URLbar at the same time is redundant) userstyles.org is being bullish today so I've put the updated code for my progress line userstyle in the bottom of this post. They also show the actual content of the Tools and Page buttons (Sadly I don't know how to get 2 menu buttons like that, I only have one, Tools) I mimiced the contents of the Tools menu as closely as I could in Personal Menu, and here is the code to import to get the exact same menu: menu_newNavigator,menu_newNavigatorTab,----,menu_showAllHistory,history-menu,viewToolbarsMenu,toggle_taskbar,viewSidebarMenuMenu,----,menu_openDownloads,menu_openAddons,----,aboutName,checkForUpdates,menu_preferences,----,menu_FileQuitItem,----,compact-extra-prefs I've added some additional parts myself, like the DTA! menu next to downloads, and the TMP options next to options, those aren't in there for compatibility's sake, don't know what happens if something in that list doesn't exist. Most of the page menu's content is useless imo, though some of you might want to put some of it into the tools menu unless you know of a way to get an actual page menu working. Next step for me is further refinements, though I'm not sure how much I can do from outside of the theme with userstyles, the main gripe I have currently is that the bookmarks menu doesn't work right, if put on the bookmarks toolbar it widens it and it's a long button meant to go next to tools, it's not the small icon the mockup has. The one in the mockup is closer to the Redux3 button that opens the bookmarks sidebar. I'll also try and get the progress lines on tabs closer to the look in the mockup, not certain how far I can get, it seems to have multiple parts, a background "empty bar" (I already have that, though since it scales horizontally instead of being 3 parts (left, middle right) it's not as good looking a bar that's animated (I could most likely do that with APNG, though PSCS4 doesn't seem to be able to make that) and a glowy bit at the far end of the bar (trying to emulate that with a "blob" at the end of my scaling bar, looks bad when it gets too wide). FF 3.6 supports multiple background images, which would make this child's play, but 3.5 don't. Not sure how we'd emulate the home tab, though it seems from their latest presentation http://people.mozilla.com/~limi/videos/tal...0-all-hands.ogg that they're not sure themselves what it would actually be used for. (audio isn't the best, it's from a handheld camera in the back, not a mic, and it's mixed wrong, so it's left only, but most of it comes through) Here is the code of that userstyle, wish code tags here were auto collapsed. .tabbrowser-tabs .tab-progress { margin: -5px 2px 0 -25px !important; opacity: 1 !important; -moz-border-image: url("data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAEwAAAAHCAYAAACiCKuEAAAAGXRFWHRTb2Z0d2FyZQBBZG9iZSBJbWFnZVJlYWR5ccllPAAAAL9JREFUeNrsV NsRAiEMZB06sQsLsFMb8MsG/LYMu3BP7wGbkDnxwz/CzSRsXlzYASTTkH45jBH8Jvl6uxiK4b2q3VoVgsWbEDTQB2Fgb1LI3kn6LZ5zAtdPkvmlHPdhShOu9fP9+UjNX6sykHPAzglQAHWuRctGQiHYPEpEuPO5enI k00MvDrbhoqPc5ADUKvl8PPmwgE3RJjiI88dlFmYh7lRuNmLgHlVIdb9idrGbvJXBjsUYj/549P8qkwADAA3ZNm1vcP3gAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC") 27 0 0 0 / 7px stretch !important; } .tabbrowser-tabs .tab-progress .progress-bar { margin: -7px -10px 0 -6px !important; -moz-border-image: url("data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAAEwAAAAHCAYAAACiCKuEAAAAGXRFWHRTb2Z0d2FyZQBBZG9iZSBJbWFnZVJlYWR5ccllPAAAAixJREFUeNrMV T2uFDEMtpPMsBLiBoiGEglxAO5DR4m4ACfgVQiQuAIdFQUNSIgHF6CCBoQo0PvRvBkH22PPZLLZVwAFsb61k8mP43xrY84Zyvb6+An/ImSwcdx8XsZXXX5hwe285hqe8+D2ffjLFhnJ0DH6Clcq7A7YDl+jeyFgYnSiuf+W8Z7xLtVejDTpheRy5EEw0T6uNqBpboRUhk3neZ+WQG0CFwzREOzysQpG ja6hW2P9JWta8DMjBykGCO6fUOAO45b08ejosXqPiAUj6sZXzHOAsl6cFBQYyAGOHJQwAsVpHhPNyGKHWUuwht2Z7lGesZxVjGMR3Jqtzvpc2IvBa9BsWX8RR zhP53CWBhjiACP7qA8e2F/d3wmwPYeDpe5w4CBQgJNr3yBNCb7cPL6LMDbi8x+0yCKOJxaxUyGdidg99ku/N3Fb1vmYzjVdrnedMEEtfu4v+MGeRDiBn4/SsxdPoWaYN8q5ylKkTJtfydjljMJpZZYyrWQZqb5ghu3lOO/nqr85d2UgNJmJBflwZqAwjBl1ygwTlg3CNvkXiOCaWmZt6QTRbFxd4e1Pr36HSAm+Xv/4Cuuk/+HzyzVj4TaPkY0185tTvPgGuM1htDiT4eGNe2UOC43c5f3uD3PYofHLcpieX+WwaE4PjOd7SZ8mWh5M/8NVmdyvklWdxHb13OatPMdvxviPq2TXqICHquSuqqi6lv1L/LidVUkJ2ierlG9+CzAAY7lERyklBJIAAAAASUVORK5CYII=") 7 0 0 0 / 7px stretch !important; background: transparent !important; } .tabbrowser-tab[selected="true"] .tab-progress { margin: -6px 0px 0 -26px !important; } .tabbrowser-tab:hover .tab-progress { margin: -6px 0px 0 -26px !important; } .tabbrowser-tabs .tabbrowser-tab[selected="true"] .tab-progress { display: none !important; } Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/800684-firefox-37-mockup-redux-theme/page/24/#findComment-591596362 Share on other sites
BoneyardBrew Member Posted September 22, 2009 Author Member Share Posted September 22, 2009 We are sad to say that we have decided to stop work on this theme. It has come such a long way since the first version, and all the feedback and comments have made it what it is today. We feel that SpewBoy has created such an excellent theme, and it is really counter-productive to have two very similar themes available. We are going to release our latest version with the Page and Home buttons soon, so that we don't leave everyone without a theme. We'll update you on that. We thank everyone for supporting us through this whole process, and we are now using our creative energy and new found knowledge to create something original. If you haven't already, I strongly suggest you follow me on DeviantART for any new information, concepts, and possible themes. I would also recommend following me on Twitter, where I will try to give as up to date information on our latest projects as I can. http://twitter.com/BoneyardBrewdm Thanks again everyone for your amazing enthusiasm and support! BoneyardBrew Member Posted September 23, 2009 Author Member Share Posted September 23, 2009 We were discussing this amongst ourselves and were wondering what you guys though. We are thinking of releasing the final version as a continuation of the latest Firefox 3.7 mockup rather than 4.0. This way it is separate from SpewBoy's theme and gives you an option of whether you would like a 3.7 or 4.0 theme. So what does everyone think?
