ChrisCanada
Downloaded, installed, and got my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate activated. :) Lucky, I can't hit above 50KBps, but I was doing better at work at around 125KBps today although the download wouldn't have finished before I wanted to go home so I cancelled it. But with how long its taking to download, looks like I have to wait until tomorrow :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/807548-windows-7-rtm-now-available-on-technet-and-msdn/page/22/#findComment-591392650 Share on other sites
Crucify
In my Technet downloads section I have this at the bottom of the Ultimate screen where the keys are at "If you retrieved a key for the Windows 7 Beta or RC, a Windows 7 key has been provided for your convenience." What exactly do they mean by this statement? BajiRav
A friend just commented something interesting - Windows 7 released on 8/6/09. Only number missing from 8/6/9 is 7. :D I wonder if this is deliberate or just a coincidence. winlonghorn
I take care of my grandma and I'm working on a start-up business. VBCtv.com it's an online TV network. I have maybe $50 in my pocket after everything I have to pay for the month. I would love to have Windows 7 right now, but I'm not going to ask someone who payed for it to give me a copy. They can offer it and I would be greatful but it's not right to ask. Yeah, not asking for a key is a wise choice definitely. It is a waste of time for the most part anyway. Nobody will provide one because it is against the MSDN / Technet policy. As far as getting only 1 key, does he mean on MSDN / Technet? If so, you can request more than one. I may have misread his post. I will check again. Gio Takahashi
Downloaded, installed, and got my copy of Windows 7 Ultimate activated. :) This. Gotta love that new computer smell. Lucky, I can't hit above 50KBps, but I was doing better at work at around 125KBps today although the download wouldn't have finished before I wanted to go home so I cancelled it. But with how long its taking to download, looks like I have to wait until tomorrow :( And remember, if you're having download speed issue, just use Akamai Download Manager. The download came in VERY fast for me and just about everyone here. To use that, just go on internet explorer (the list will not display in any other browsers), and go to Top downloads, and you MAY see the list. (You may have to suspend and close File Transfer Manager). You'll be asked to install Akamai download manager, and then go back to top downloads, and that should do the trick. Gio Takahashi
When you close FTM, refresh the Top Downloads page a few times. Well I have MSDN Premium and I can get up to 10 keys per OS so that must be a technet thing. That it is. With Technet, you could get multiple keys for OS, if you need it. EvilCheeseWedge
Anybody having a simliar problem? I've been trying to download Win 7 Ultimate x64 all damn day on MSDN. It's been hovering at just over 50% and is down to about a paltry 30 kb/s. I've never been able to see anything on the "Top Downloads" page, but I hadn't tried closing the FTM. So I got frustrated and did. Still nothing on top downloads. And now... now I can't download this particular version from the subscriber downloads either! When I go to the subscriber download page, Ultimate and a few other flavors of Win 7 have the download option grayed out, and text beneath them that reads: "Please click on Details for download information." The details read... "This file is available for download to all eligible subscribers on Top Downloads. Keys are available on the My Product Keys page." But when I follow the link to Top Downloads, the page, like always, lists no downloads. No FTM is open or active. No amount of refreshing/waiting has changed the Top Downloads page for me all day. :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/807548-windows-7-rtm-now-available-on-technet-and-msdn/page/22/#findComment-591393184 Share on other sites
ManMountain
As far as I'm aware, apart from Enterprise (1 key provided), with Technet you get 10 keys for each version of Windows 7. Each key can activate 10 computers, so if need be, Microsoft provides Technet subscribers sufficient keys to activate and evaluate across 100 machines per version type. ManMountain
Has anyone else with Technet access noticed that for Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) - DVD (English), clicking keys shows "There are no keys for this product" whereas before it showed your generated keys? I also just noticed under details "Instructions and Resources: This file is available for download to all eligible subscribers on Top Downloads. Keys are available on the My Product Keys page. ", that also wan't there before either. Yet clicking the My Product Keys link lists the keys that where previously generated? ManMountain
Yes, for both Ultimate and Enterprise, both the ability to generate keys is gone and the download option is greyed as well. Downloading Ultimate/Enterprise ISO's direct from "Top Downloads" does work however. It states at top "Top Downloads contains certain newly available downloads to support higher initial download traffic. After the download demand has peaked, these are then made available with the rest of MSDN Subscriber Downloads".
