cykosis
I think they disable Windows 7 Ultimate & Enterprise downloads and key generators They're directing you to download using Akami. You can still generate keys for those version on your key page, though... just not directly on the download page. I've been watching the MS download creep along for two hours. Akamai's moving at 1MB/s. terror_adagio
If I join TechNet will I have access to Windows 7 RTM? Is getting a copy that way just the same as having a legit retail copy? Kevin.
If I join TechNet will I have access to Windows 7 RTM? Is getting a copy that way just the same as having a legit retail copy? Yes. The RTM TechNet is offering will be the exactly same thing as the copy that goes to stores October 22nd. Raa
If I join TechNet will I have access to Windows 7 RTM? Is getting a copy that way just the same as having a legit retail copy? Yes. Remember it's for testing/evaluation only! ;) I've got my copy of Ultimate X86, X64 and WAIK all completed. All done in 3 hours, w00t! :D Damn. Now I have to format, lol. Okay thanks, cause it actually will be cheaper this way as I have a decent coupon code. Is the versions available Upgrades or Full copies? ie. You can do a clean install without any hassle? terror_adagio
Much appreciated. And one last question, I assume keys are still valid if you decide not to renew your subscription later on? wolfwood78
Much appreciated. And one last question, I assume keys are still valid if you decide not to renew your subscription later on? Yes, you just can't generate new keys or re-download any files after the subscription expires. Gio Takahashi
I can agree that Akamai has been great to download with. Using FTM pretty much shot the download down to 50 KB/s~100 KB/s, but Akamai stayed at 700 KB/s to 1 MB/s consistently. Also, apparently, downloading Ultimate and Enterprise now requires Akamai to use. they disabled regular download for those two editions. AltecXP
*dances* With the Technet coupon Ultimate is cheaper then it will be retail. I'm at 75% now. iamwhoiam
Has anyone already finished downloading? And can tell whether all editions are included on the disc, or not? You don't get to choose which version you install from the ISOs. If you download the Ultimate ISO, you get Ultimate. The only way to be able to choose which edition of 7 gets installed is to modify the ISO by removing the ei.cfg file from the sources folder. Omen1393
I'm assuming some of you have installed RTM. How is it? Is it faster or slower than RC? Is there a netflix option in Windows Media Center like there is in Vista? I also noticed that my boot times on Windows 7 RC x64 bit is rather slow compared to the 32 bit beta so does anybody know if it boots up faster than RC? JOHW
So those lucky people out there who are running the final build, are there any significant changes since RC? Feels slightly faster and no bugs that affect me have been found unlike the RC. There's still a bug with the Acrobat plugin for browsers that has been there since the prebeta But, I doubt there are really any significant changes since RC.
