Definitely one of the more intelligent films I've watched, and the story does leave you thinking more than most films do. I'd give it a 9/10. Definitely not as good as the other 2 We are planning to watch Thor next. The monsters were kinda cool but I was completely indifferent about the film I think Frost and Pegg should stick to doing films together, they are better It was different and stylish. Colin.B Posted October 8, 2011 Share Posted October 8, 2011 5/5 I watched this one last night on Netflix and I loved this movie. 13 Assassins, while not quite Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" in terms of character development, it still has meaning and emotion and the last forty minutes is a beautiful ballad of death and amazing choreography covered in blood, grittiness and wonder. Colin.B Posted October 9, 2011 Share Posted October 9, 2011 4 out of 5. A slow burner of a film, it really picks up pace about 40 minutes in and things start to get really creepy. It's ambiguity makes it interesting and it's unsettling creepiness makes it entertaining. Recommended for Halloween.
