Same happened to me with the 'no voice prompts', it's when the tom tom volume is turned down. You can change the volume by going onto a map, then touching the status bar, which turns into a volume control.

I love the Cantonese voice :)

5 hrs of driving yesterday. In total my iPhone managed to get a GPS signal.... not once. TomTom just reports a Poor GPS Reception constantly. Pulled out my TomTom One and before I managed to finish punching in the Post Code it had a signal.

The GPS receiver in the iPhone is very very poor. TomTom I guess know this hence creating this external jacket? I think there is something more of an issue though with my phone as to not get a signal once in 5 hours is somewhat a joke.

I used it earlier for 40mins in a punto, and only lost signal once whilst going under alot of trees.

I guess the mount will have a better GPS receiver, and a compass.

It's NOT worth it. (pickup any standalone in store for a better deal)

This isn't even that good. A little research and i'm sure you'll find Navigon to be the superior of the two.

Way better priced too.

The tomtom car kit is nice, but nowhere near worth an extra $100. That's just insane and straight up ripoff.

I can agree, the Navigon app is a very nice GPS app for the iPhone. With the newest update, it says street names now too, do that definitely makes it even nicer than it was before.
