Note that this is the Enterprise edition, which is similar to Ultimate but has some additional features that most home users won't probably need. Still, if you want an actual trial straight from Microsoft then the wait is apparently over. The download is for the final RTM version and enterprise is only available to software assurance customers only making this good for collectors. Microsoft has made a 90-day trial download of Windows 7 Enterprise available. You can download the ISO image now. This is the RTM version, not the RC. What you're downloading is the same OS that will be available for purchase in a couple of months. And I don't think they will need your credit card unless it asks you during the install which is doubtful. I started the download and they just wanted some basic information. You know this kind of makes you wonder, why doesn't Microsoft just allow users to download the final version for consumers that already preordered the download version. Not really sure what kind of semantic vortex you're trying to create here, but if this isn't a "free trial," then perhaps you should have a look at this page, which allows you to download a "Free Trial" of Microsoft Office 2007 products.
