UFC 107 - BJ Penn to Defend!

LOL Kongo shouldnt of turned his back on Mir at the Weigh in ;)

Damn right. Mir indicated at the weigh in's that Kongo's neck will be wrapped around Mir's arms and that's EXACTLY what happened. Respect to Mir.

Strip Brock if he can't fight and make a championship bout between Mir and Carwin.

Diego Sanchez was outclassed. Penn was better in every regard. Shame that Sanchez had to get geat up bad to find out though.

Off topic: Where the hell is GSP? Fighters that fight every 1-2 years **** me off.

He faces Dan Hardy in March at UFC 111 but it does certainly seem like a long time since he last fought....actually looking that up he last fought July!

Well he did get hurt in the last fight.

Mir looked amazing at that weight.. interested to see where this takes him. Sanchez got outclassed, Penn looked calm during the whole match and just picked him apart. Florian showed some great boxing work, his new trainers are paying off i guess... but regardless if guida wins or loses i'll always be a fan of that dude, such an exciting fighter and classy as hell, never has a bad thing to say about anyone.

According to some things Dana has said regarding BJ is that he will have maybe 1-2 more fights in the LW division, possibly Edgar/Griffen/Maynard and if he should win them, then he will vacate the title and move up to Welter, however he will not get a title shot right away. Don't know if this is a good move for BJ honestly. I think if anything maybe the ufc should send him over to the WEC so he can clear out the 145 division. IMO it's a win/win as it would gain the WEC some much needed spotlight and it would make for some REALLY good 145 fights.

penn proved he's the best lightweight, but poor guy is always going to have that asterisks on the his career that he lost to GSP twice (which is nothing to be ashamed of).

That kick that opened up that gash that stop the fight was deadly, that cut was HUGE.

You have to be kidding me... He as fought every 4-6 months since joining the UFC in 2004. Some fights coming even 3 months apart. And even taking a fight on 1 months notice against Matt Hughes. God forbid he take a 9 month break after he injures his GROIN!!!!

+1, even silva is taking a long break right now too. the greats get hurt too...

You said it ^. Sanchez with the cut at the end of the fight

As good as Penn is, GSP is just a bigger version of Penn with I think a more impressive physique and great ground skills.

man that cut :| :|

Nah I was wrong.

I could have sworn that I haven't seen that guy for a LONG time. Quite surprised that he fought in July.
