Quillz
So Microsoft will actually focus on what their products can do, unlike some others, who just bash the competition? Lord Ba'al
My favorite Windows 7 ad is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPIgEFIv5MI.swf It features real people, their opinion about this new Windows version and some of the capabilities of the desktop. The other ads don't really focus on that. We have a winner! If there would be an ad campaign about Kde4, Windows would be hurting badly  Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/821160-a-taste-of-windows-7-advertising-to-come/page/2/#findComment-591551592 Share on other sites

Quillz
We have a winner! :cool:If there would be an ad campaign about Kde4, Windows would be hurting badly  Considering that almost no one uses KDE4 (certainly not the average person), the ad campaign would simply consist of most people asking, "What is KDE?" toadeater
I heard it's at the stable version 4.3.1.Ladies and gentlemen, brentaal's post here serves as an example of why Linux will not succeed on the desktop: The permanent infighting between Gnome and KDE users, Ubuntu/Fedora/openSUSE users, vi and emacs users etc takes away resources from making the actual software as usable as their commercial counterparts. What is going to happen is that eventually people will realize that a GUI and an OS are two different things. They will realize that good looks doesn't necessarily mean good quality. They're going to stop saying "oh that looks nice" and ask "how does the performance compare to... " and "how secure is it?" Lechio
What is going to happen is that eventually people will realize that a GUI and an OS are two different things. They will realize that good looks doesn't necessarily mean good quality. They're going to stop saying "oh that looks nice" and ask "how does the performance compare to... " and "how secure is it?" Exactly. "secure" is one of the most important aspects for some when considering the available alternatives.
