I suppose anthony davidson might be worth a punt for Virgin Manor, but I suppose thats if he wants to give up Brawn GP and working for the BBC.

I suppose Piquet and even some of the ex Torro Rosso drivers are free. If you've got Petrov down for Force India, perhaps Vitantonio Liuzzi would like to race a bit more.

Then we've got Alonso going to Ferrari and Kimi leaving the sports, god this ones been floating about for some time now.

I think Heikki Kovalainen could go to Williams, I think he could do a nice job for them!

I suppose Nakajima will go to someone, but then again who would want him?

Not sure what Virgin is up to, I remember Branson saying "we like to back the underdogs", but to be honest, he only agreed to back Brawn when he saw the cars pace, and if they can continue that into 2010, why is he backing out of sponsorship?

Not sure what Virgin is up to, I remember Branson saying "we like to back the underdogs", but to be honest, he only agreed to back Brawn when he saw the cars pace, and if they can continue that into 2010, why is he backing out of sponsorship?

Because brawn now are probably no longer underdogs and want quite a lot of money. ?They would like the money to fund the driver contracts but also perhaps hire back the people they had to make redundant

I think Toyota should look at signing Kamui Kobayashi, yeah he's a rookie but did quite well in the two races that he drove.

I'm pretty sure they will going on whats been said in this article http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/79960 he gave button a run for his money thats for sure and he's by far been the best rookie this season with a few races, look at grosjean and others hehehe

Almost all of the rookies this season have been terrible! Remember Luca Badoer? :p

Really need mid season testing to return. Having said that though, Kamui Kobayashi definitely did his chances of a drive no harm after his performance in the last 2 races!

Isn't Jacques Villeneuve rumoured to be looking at a return to F1?

With Mercedes GP,And Button Confirmed For Mclaren,I Guess Kimi's Going To Take A Sabbatical This Season(Better Than Contemplating His Permanent Exit Form F1).I Doubt He'll Drive For The Lower Ranked Or The New Teams,Besides Which They Wouldn't Be Able To Afford His Salary.

He'll Actually Earn More This Way,If He Stays Out For The Season,That Is.$15Mn As Compared To $7.5-$10Mn If He Had Actually Taken Up A Drive.

Raikkonen to take a sabbatical in 2010

Former world champion Kimi Raikkonen will take a sabbatical from Formula 1 next year, his manager has revealed, following the collapse of talks with McLaren about a deal for 2010.

Raikkonen said last month that, in the wake of being released from his Ferrari contract, his only option to remain in F1 was with McLaren - because he wanted to be guaranteed a top-line grand prix car.

However, amid increasing speculation that Jenson Button is on his way to the British team, Raikkonen's manager Steve Robertson revealed on Tuesday night that discussions with McLaren had come to an end.

"The options in F1 were with McLaren next season or not at all," Robertson was quoted as saying by respected Finnish newspaper Turun Sanomat, which has close links with the Raikkonen camp. "Kimi and McLaren were unable to reach an agreement, so he will not drive at the F1 level - at least not next year.

"A gap year means nothing for Kimi. He is more interested in fighting for wins and the world championship. F1 will miss Kimi. He worked hard over the summer - doing things in a Ferrari that only the best drivers are capable of."

AUTOSPORT understands that there were several stumbling blocks to a deal being completed with McLaren prior to the team finding out that Button was available and interested.

As well as a difference of opinion about wages, Raikkonen and McLaren were believed to not be in agreement about the number of sponsorship appearance days he should do, or about how free he was to do rallies.

With Raikkonen only interested in returning to F1 in a race-winning car, his best option for 2011 would appear to lie with Red Bull Racing - which has a theoretical vacancy for 2011 with Mark Webber currently only contracted until the end of next year.

Although it is not clear what Raikkonen will do next year, it is possible that he will focus his efforts on the World Rally Championship – while he sorts out an F1 return. Red Bull could be involved in his rally plans too.
