gregrocker
I pre-order windows 7 home prem and I am now hosting a party :D So does it make sense for me to cancel my pre-order? Not if you paid $50, since it can easily sell for $100. Plus it's value will hold for a long time. I bought one myself and am getting the Limited Edition in the party pack, so I'll just put the upgrade on a laptop. Party Givers: Did anyone notice that one of the qualifiers to be a host is to answer a poll question. Well, the poll started only showing results yesterday evening and can't be taken. What's the chance this could be a deal-kiler if I already got the email saying I am getting the party pack? Jus askin. Snowl
You should have gotten 2 email's when you signed up. One wanting you to confirm you House Party registration and another one wanting you to confirm your House Party application. Are you sure you confirmed both of them? Have you checked your spam folder? The 1st two email's came thru fine, but the others were flagged as spam. I accepted them both, and I have this in my profile : MY APPLICATIONS Windows 7 Launch Party Party Date: October 22, 2009 (26 days away) Active Applicant Your application was received on Tuesday, September 22 2009 and is now under review. You will be notified by email of your status on or around Monday, September 21. Good luck! Please note: Only one application per household; multiple applications will be disqualified. It's the 26th already :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/825972-windows-7-house-party/page/4/#findComment-591626232 Share on other sites

Jus askin. I was a confirmed host on the 22nd September, then realised last night I was now an Inactive finalist. I voted on the poll, posted a comment, everything asked. So no idea why. contacted them to ask why. Hopefully receive an answer, but others are saying they never answer emails. Seriously ****ed off. Had already pre-ordered catering paying a deposit. No refund on the deposit if it's cancelled. Should send them the bill. gregrocker
The poll was there from the start. It seems a LOT of people simply ignored it since there were lots of questions about it on the blog there. The only poll I found was at the bottom on the main Party Nation page (below) and it changed from asking the question to giving the results two nights ago. This is a concern only because it is one of the steps given which "MUST" be completed to be a host. But, then again, I got the acceptance e-mail... This is a concern only because it is one of the steps given which "MUST" be completed to be a host. But, then again, I got the acceptance e-mail... That was the poll I was referring to. I don't think the poll was an absolute requirement though, despite what that e-mail implied. Chemaz
If you're all wondering what the pack looks like when you get it check this out http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2009...-to-ballmer.ars this guy complained that he could get one so they sent him one Didnt realise the pack would be that big or if they even existed lol, looking forward to gettin mine hopefully next week! lol edit: jsut looking over this pics on the original post http://www.stuffiwrote.co.uk/2009/09/29/wi...y-pack-unboxed/ im quite disapointed by the quality of the cd case, i was hoping it come in the fancy microsoft cases and not paper envelope and crappy cardboard case! Plus the disc says 32bit only...i thought it was 32/64bit? edit2: just read what the pack contains on the site Which version should I install in my computer? For your convenience, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 Ultimate are included in your Windows 7 Launch Party Packs. • The 32-bit version is the Signature Edition of Windows 7 Ultimate in the black sleeve. • The 64-bit version is included in the white sleeve. my bad!lol it does come with both Edited October 1, 2009 by chemaz101 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/825972-windows-7-house-party/page/4/#findComment-591649528 Share on other sites
