Problem with Bluetooth Device on Windows 7

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I recently bought a Trust Ultra Small Bluetooth 2.1 USB Adapter 25m (16008) but i have been encountering problems when installing the drivers on to Windows 7. I downloaded the Windows 7 drivers from the trust website instead of using the driver cd that comes with the device.

The driver installation goes well, finding and adding bluetooth devices work as it should but when i attempt to open the My Bluetooth Places icon located on the desktop it crashes Windows Explorer continously, i'm not sure what the cause is or how to fix it.

Windows Event Veiwer is non descriptive but i have attached a screen shot which may be helpfull.

Any help will be usefull.

Thanks in advance

**Update** it would appear that the adapter drivers for Windows 7 are v5.5.0.3220!!

**Update 2** this problem is still evident on a fresh install of Windows 7 without/with updates from Windows Update

It is possible the Bluetooth drivers are BETA since Windows 7 still hasn't hit stores yet. Check the release date.

I don't know if these drivers are BETA as the Trust website does not mention this and checking the file details displays no date either
