TonyLock
Since Microsoft took out Windows Calendar from Windows 7, I was wondering, does the Calendar app from Windows Vista work on Windows 7? svnO.o
I just opened my Vista partition that I still have on Win7 Ultimate x64 and no problems running the Calendar app here :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/830242-windows-vista-calendar-on-win-7/#findComment-591662874 Share on other sites
iamwhoiam
Since Microsoft took out Windows Calendar from Windows 7, I was wondering, does the Calendar app from Windows Vista work on Windows 7? Yes it does. Just copy it from a Vista install to the same locations on 7 and create the shortcuts. It works perfectly. Windows Mail, Photo Gallery, Ink Ball (*), Media Player 11, Tinker (*), Texas Hold 'Em (*)(**), and other work just as well. (*) Needs to be run on 7 Ultimate with Vista Compatibility. (**) Needs additional registry entries Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/830242-windows-vista-calendar-on-win-7/#findComment-591662880 Share on other sites

Pupik
I don't know which calendar are you talking about (don't remember using any calendar under Vista), but there's a nice one in Windows Live Mail in Windows 7. iamwhoiam
I have a Vista DVD. How do I get Texas Hold 'Em to run on Windows 7? You have to have Vista Ultimate then update it to get Texas Hold 'Em and then copy that over to your 7 Ultimate install to the same place it exists in Vista. There's some registry entries to modify and then set the shortcut to run in Vista compatibility mode. Just search around for Texas Hold 'Em on 7 for the registry instructions. I don't know which calendar are you talking about (don't remember using any calendar under Vista), but there's a nice one in Windows Live Mail in Windows 7. It's called Windows Calendar and it doesn't require that you have to sign in to a web site to use it. .Neo
I don't really get why Microsoft got rid of Windows Calendar and Mail. Such a shame they replaced it with something like Windows Live Mail. :/ Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/830242-windows-vista-calendar-on-win-7/#findComment-591664022 Share on other sites
