Netgear WN111V2 for Windows 7

Recommended Posts

I just got a new wireless adapter WN111V2 and try to load on a 32 bits Windows 7. The driver loads OK but failed to detect any wireless network. Has anyone experience the same problem on Win 7 (compatibility problems?) ? Whether you have an alternative fix for this? Please share with the world...

Thank you

Run the setup file for the drivers in vista compatibility mode and see if that solves the problem.

Also check these web pages out they might help you resolve your problem.

I have both the original and V2 versions (Both use different chipsets, made by Marvell I believe).

Both don't work in Windows 7 x64, V2 will work (Sort of) in Windows 7 x86 but you have to **** around with driver settings or use a Marvel ref driver to get it to work as N or WPA2.

Same experiences in Vista.

Both do work fine in Linux though!

I would avoid or get your money back where possible as they are prone to overheating -> dropping signal when this happens.

  • 3 weeks later...

I had the same problem but it was also pilot error on my part...

There are a few hitches to ther setup..

Make sure you download the correct driver update from the Netgear site which is wn111v2_3.0_setup.exe ..

The next thing is make sure you have removed the old driver from you windows/system32 folder...

Then reboot the system

run the new setup file and it should work fine...

Note... be careful you do not download the wrong version...

Good luck
