laq3
Hi, a couple weeks ago, I spilled some honey on my calculator. Now the buttons stick, which is rather annoying. Does anyone have an easy solution? I googled this already, but didn't find any satisfactory answers. Thanks! laq3
Yeah, I thought about that, but that's rather complicated. If there's an easier solution, please let me know. CAPSLOCKISAWSOME
I did the same thing a ~2 years ago. I just continued to use the calculator on a regular basis and it eventually went away after about a year. All I did was wait. But if you want to clean it in some way then I think you'll have to take it apart (if its a TI-8X then it's relatively easy to clean if you unscrew it from the back). ozgeek
Try some metho spirits (not too much!) on it. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/853778-fix-sticky-buttons-on-calculator/#findComment-591964396 Share on other sites
d4diesel
try some 99% alcohol and wipe as much sticky stuff as you can with the help of some pointy stuff to get in between and let it dry. the alcohol evaporates quickly enough. this may not solve is completely but may help reduce the stickiness. also, if possible take out the batteries before trying this. I have never attempted something like this before, i also open it up to clean inside out but i am sure this will work.
