Actually quite enjoying this game now, after never really liking halo games :) Also got the hang of driving the buggy, so that's a lot less frustrating now, though I still think the controls are stupid.

They haven't changed? Point the cursor where you want to go and press forward on the stick.

What's so hard about that

+1 but I can imagine. I was similarly frustrated during Halo:CE days but it's easy to get used to.

It seems to me that the vehicle stops accelerating (or stops) if you move the left stick more than 0.1 degree away from vertical :/

Are you 100% positive you're not actually landing on the ground first then hopping on the Elite? Rewatch your video in theater and pull off the camera so you can move it around to see. I had the same "issue" where I thought I was landing on the elite however rewatching showed I was actually hitting ground first then getting the elite.

This achievement really is a pain in the ass but I finally went and tried for it again last night (after ignoring it for a few days) and after 41 deaths, I got it :p.

That must have been my problem, too. At first I thought it was because I tried it on Easy, then I thought it was because I had it on Normal. After about 15 tries on Heroic and doing it twice to a Grunt accidentally, I managed it.

Also got the "Banshees, Fast and Low" achievement, thanks to your video. Super easy. Thank you.

I guess I too wished the vehicle would drive more like a regular car in a racing game. But I am used to it now.

I tend to have more issue with cars in racing games, or games like the GTA games, or Saints Row II. Halo driving has always been easy for me.

You can't unlock any achievements on easy (unlike Halo 3) so you might have actually had it but that's why it didn't unlock.

Glad the video helped! I know most of other videos out there right now have you screwing around on Tip of the Spear--too much time for those! :p

So, decided to give it yet another chance tonight and I had a tiny bit of fun actually - believe it or not!

Only problem is, it's constantly SWAT ... Every single room constantly picks SWAT. Seriously Bungie, let us choose what we want to play, don't let players vote.

@ Sethos: Agreed. I enjoy SWAT as much as the next guy, but I'm tired of things constantly getting chosen instead of players varying it up. One time I played on the same map, same game type three times in a row. Very annoying.

Have you tried out Invasion yet? It's actually not that bad and I've been enjoying it more than the other standard gametypes.

I was going to suggest the same.

Can I fix my preferred gametype? Sometimes I just wanna bum about in Rocketfights on firefight but can't see a way to fix that preference?

Nope you've just got to select it and hope everyone else does too.

Indeed. The biggest problem I have with the system is the amount of power it gives to large groups of people (people on the same console for instance). I played by myself a few times yesterday, and I felt like my vote was worthless on Rumble Pit because some party of four insisted on playing Infection. I thought this system was going to be better than the one from Halo 3, but I think it might actually be worse in some ways. I'll probably just stick to playing with friends from now on, instead of venturing out on my own.

Some CoD-style playlists would be nice, where you always know exactly what you're getting. I will try out Invasion today though.

Yeah, I agree that it would be nice to have it more customized now that they've got a few more gametypes (Slayer Pro, Slayer DMRs, etc.) As others always get stuck with SWAT (which I don't mind), I always get stuck with those that want Snipers. I'm all for occasionally sniping but not every damn game.

I kinda wish Arena had FFA. I loved going in Lonewolves sometimes and I don't want to play with a bunch of guests in a stupid gametype (cough Headhunter cough although Multi-team is fun for headhunter..)

Game was a bit shorter than I thought, and kinda easy on the normal setting. I've not long finished Dead Space, and thought that was a fair bit harder.
