Create a Simple Origami CD Pouch

Recommended Posts

This is a very simple way to create a CD pouch from a normal sheet of paper. It takes less than a minute to do and is easy to memorize. Use it the next time you burn a bootleg CD for your friend you don't have a sandwich-sized zipper bag handy.

I split up the images so the forum wouldn't shrink the picture. This is the original picture which you can save to your computer.

I do it a little different

I think I prefer that one actually. :p

A slight tweak: Like on mine, if you fold in the corners first before folding in the sides, it makes it easier to tuck in because the corner folds don't stick out.

I gave that a shot, but don't really like it. The sleeve feels loose and the disc is exposed.

Not sure what you mean about the corners sticking out.

I did say I prefer yours. It's even simpler than mine and actually locks in the CD.

On the fourth step, you make those corner folds. The problem is these may not stay down. They get in the way which makes it a little difficult to tuck in the flap in the final step.

This is what I was proposing, to fold in a couple corners first, then fold in the sides. This way, the corner folds don't pop up and it's easier to tuck in.

Ah! Paint to the rescue. A picture speaks a thousand words, and all that...

I was folding the top corners, like a combination of your first pic and my first pic.

About to die of sleep deprivation, but some people are getting some discs for xmas tomorrow :p , so I'll give it a shot then. Might even make a template for printing messages, track lists, what ever.
