I believe we've had people edit like that in the past (don't remember point out names though :p)

I've seen things like "Help with this problem" -> "Whats the ****ing point" after getting a negative response though.

What about the ability for subscribers to edit the first post of their topics?

IIRC, everyone should be able to edit the first post of their topics. Subscribers though are also allowed to edit their topic titles.

and subs^2 at least could edit the topic/OP forever, not just for 45 mins

hmm, i didnt count the time, but i was pretty sure i couldnt edit a post i've made like 10 or 15 minutes ago...nobody replied to it or anything, i just got the message saying that i dont have permission to edit the post...

Why not automatically put the "edited by" line after, lets say, 5 minutes? I do not re-read posts all the time unless I see the "edited by" line.

I'm glad that we now have the grace period back, however I do think that this time it is too long and it should be reduced to the same amount of time that it was set to pre-upgrade.
