John Terry Stripped of England Captaincy / Ferdinand Replaces Him

[joke]

Capello's just phoned Wayne Bridge and said, "I've just spoken to JT and he's lost the captain's armband. Do me a favour and have a good look under your bed for me."

Ashley Cole was caught doing 104mph in a 50mph zone. When questioned by police as to why he was speeding he said, "l've just heard John Terry is parked outside my house."

What a load of crap. Why is it anyone's business what a man does in his personal life? Do footballers get the captain position for being nice and honest, or because they play well?

Also, ladies are very nice! :D

Footballers are seen as role models to a lot of people in this country, I feel Capello has done the right thing, but I am not really sure that giving the captaincy from a sex case to a druggy is really the right way forward, but the truth is that there aren't a lot of other good candidates.

Football/soccer players are seen as role models here too, but people getting all bent out of shape that he had sex with a woman and calling for the dismissal of his team position is a bit whacked.

He will still play for the team, he just won't captain them. I agree with Fabio on this one, I feel role models should promote good behaviour, but I don't think it's a good message to convey to children that "it's OK to be a coke head as long as you don't cheat on your wife".

I don't get it?

How are these players still being considered for the captaincy if Terry was removed for what he did?

John Terry - Cheated on his wife with a team mates girlfriend.

Rio Ferdinand - Failed (missed) drugs test - never proven ... but still not captain material

Steven Gerrard - Assault, charges dropped even after conclusive video evidence shows him striking the man

Wayne Rooney - Cheated on his then Girlfriend, now wife with a prostitute.

Classic england team in my eyes. So proud of them

On a serious note, as long as they can get away with the mocking that will definitely happen each time Terry touches the ball, I think we'll do fine.
