Mazhar
VLC player takes snapshots in low resolution. If I am playing high quality video, I do not have any option to increase the resolution. I want the snapshots to be of high resolution / bigger size, is there any solution? 0 offroadaaron
if its just 1 screenshot then you could just use printscreen and paste it into a paint program. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/889112-vlc-snapshot/#findComment-592429194 Share on other sites
0 Mazhar
Okay looks like I have to use printscreen every time. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/889112-vlc-snapshot/#findComment-592429392 Share on other sites
0 +Xinok Subscriber² Posted April 3, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted April 3, 2010 VLC lets you define the width and height of the snapshot. -1 means it will keep the original width / height of the video. 0 means it will resize the width or height proportionally, preserving the aspect ratio. It doesn't work, you get a big black screen, unless it's some specific format I forgot. I remember in the past trying to get screenshot from video in media player and other, when pasted in paint/photoshop, all I was getting is black screen. I was seeing the screenshot as long as the player was still open and paint was on top of the player. saving it made a big black screen. 0 Bhav
Black screen on the video area is caused by hardware acceleration...happens in WMP too. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/889112-vlc-snapshot/#findComment-592432562 Share on other sites
