I know the email says .HK, but that looks like Japanese Kanji to me. Even the date is completely Japanese kanji.

This is all traditional Chinese (including the date). Specifically Japanese kanji is different, but Japanese does indeed use a lot of Chinese characters as well.

Kanji are derived from Hanzi. This letter can't be Japanese because it doesn't have any hiragana signs at all. Hiragana signs are required for morphology and some other things, and without them you're just throwing lexical terms that have no relation to each other.
