s1k3sT
I honestly do not see any co-relation between the two. The war on terror existed well before 9/11, under the guise of economic sanctions and trade restrictions. The only thing 9/11 changed was America went to war with Afghanistan. Then apparently WMDs were found in Iraq so we went to war there. But its not like Saddam Hussein had anything to do with 9/11. There is a HUGE difference between war and "economic sanctions and trade restrictions". If it wasn't for 9/11 (or some other attack) none of the wars would have been possible. s1k3sT
The "actual, physical evidence" of Osama being behind it? They melted it? Probably... Anyone interested in "alternative theories" (not controlled demolition, other puppeteers) watch "Ring Of Power". It's low quality, but that's how you can tell it's legit... Joe User
True that. Fine, I'm different. I never claimed to be "normal" hell I don't want to be normal. I'll try being more respectful of everyone else's beliefs from now on. Beliefs in defined words and phrases. I don't usually associate the dictionary with a belief system. Do you choose to believe in math? Is the Earth round or flat? Is a word or phrase defined by the dictionary and its use by the general populace or a single person? Bush could have simply claimed WMDs and Chemical Bombs exist and Saddam Hussein plans to use them against us and it might have been sufficient enough. It's not like there were massively compelling reasons for America to go to war in the past, Vietnam, Gulf War, but yet they did. Not to mention SH wasn't exactly a popular international figure. Mr. Gibs
I thought Vietnam was provoked by the Gulf of Tonkin incident, seems there are some similarities too... Vietnam had a lot to do with maintaining "democracy" (even though it was a vastly unpopular leader) in Vietnam and picking up after the French loss of control over the country. The government had to find a reason to make what was going to be an unpopular war, popular. But yeh I'm sure there are some similarities. Will we ever know for sure? Doubtful unless the Government tells us or we go back in the past.

Fred Derf Veteran Posted April 25, 2010 Veteran Share Posted April 25, 2010 Is the Earth round or flat? We know the earth is round, but back in the day they thought it was a "fact" that is was flat... D'oh! A round world would still be flat. This isn't Terry Pratchett's Discworld that is supported by 4 continent-sized elephants perched on the back of a gigantic space turtle. For those who had difficulty with Grade 1 mathematics (actually it gets introduced in Senior Kindergarten), we live on a spherical planet.

You see the problem though is all of this is based of speculation. It's not like we can go back into the past, stop 9/11 from happening without changing anything else, and then see if Bush invades Iraq. For all you know Bush just wanted to get rid of Saddam since they didn't do that in the Gulf War. Or maybe he just wanted the oil. Or maybe the intelligence he got from the CIA / HS / NSA etc etc were just wrong, and since he didn't have anything else to go by an invasion seemed the logical step. Mr. Gibs
You watched the whole video already? You are fast... No I haven't finished watching the video but you cannot deny that its still based of speculation. I posted 3 scenarios that have nothing to do with 9/11 but all just as likely as the other. We will never be able to say for sure because 9/11 happened, and we can't revert it. And it's not like the government is going to make the Iraq war files public anytime soon. Until we get credible evidence of any sort, everything will just be a speculation. All I'm saying is while I agree that 9/11 certainly helped Bush's Iraq plan (If he had any of course), I don't believe it was the deciding factor behind it and the war could have happened regardless. Being such that every part of the surface or the circumference is equidistant from the center: a round ball. Sounds like round can also describe a sphere. You are thinking of circular. Normally I wouldn't be so openly pedantic, but actually "round" is more appropriate, considering the Earth isn't actually exactly spherical; there's kind of a bulge at the equator :p. Also, on the topic of "theory", I'd be a lot more comfortable if people referred to the "official" story as a "theory" (as it has substantial evidence), and the "alternative" explanations (not wanting to use the somewhat inflammatory "conspiracy theory" term in this thread) as "hypotheses". I love the English language, but it can grate when common usage flies in the face of technical usage (like "theory" in science). s1k3sT 1 Share
