PreKe
Trident is getting hardware acceleration, I thought and HTML 5 support, plus fast java engine. (just knowledge from general reading, I'm no guru), either way Mozilla seems to be playing catchup to Webkit and really stumbling on the way. Firefox already has hardware acceleration builds out. So apparently Chrome has yet to catch up with Firefox there at least! From what I read, that's Webkit's crown not Firefox. lol you've drank from the cool-aide fountain of Mozilla I think :D What you have read probably doesn't test pure HTML5. SmugMac
LOL! So you are now comparing scores between two different OSs. These were on Win7 , and there is really no meaning to compare like this. BTW Safari and Mac , i see some optimization between them... How does a browser test get impacted by the OS? OS X isn't HTML 5 compliant. It's the browser that matters: and now, latest nightly Firefox build for Mac You're grasping at straws. ㋡

Jos
In http://beta.html5test.com/ , following are the scores (out of 315) Chrome 6 - 220 Firefox 3.7a6- 186 Safari 5 - even less (forgot the figures , but definitely less than Firefox) Opera 10.6 - 129 So i see two WebKit Browsers here , 1 @ top , 1 @ bottom of firefox. Yeah they are the king of the hill really! BTW i can see less ppl are voting for "No , i hate firefox"" Interesting results. I did the same tests and here's what I got: Chromium - 212 Firefox - 139 Safari - 129 I know it's not "apples-to-apples", but it shows the same trend. On a different test, my benchmarks show the WebKit browsers on top: Check them out here.

mr.r9
Guys, if you believe Firefox to be inferior against 'x' browser then use 'x' browser. Yes Firefox has gained a little 'weight' but it's by no means a slow browser. Firefox is a complete browser with extreme customization capabilities & etc.... So kindly, leave this thread. Inklin
I like it now, but it is opaque and it ruins it... I hope they do make it clouded glass behind the bookmarks bar, address bar and the active tab... Like strate40 with stratabuddy was. Fluxii Media
Do you really have to promote Chrome in every single comment you make? Uh... go through EVERY comment I've ever made on Neowin... and tell me I've promoted Chrome in EVERY SINGLE one I've made. Stop drinking the Mozilla Kool-Aid PreKe! You try to state Firefox has the best scores with HTML5, yet Chrome gets higher. Firefox has a slower rendering engine, and it's trying to play catch up on it's UI... I use Firefox and Chrome! I switch constantly, I still like Chrome because it's slim and fast, I like Firefox at times because it's got more customization! Stop trying to think that I am all for Chrome and Chrome alone. I love both browsers and all I said was I didn't like the UI for the tabs on top feature yet! Though the new nightly makes them look better, just a little rough around the edges. I know once the UI is done for Firefox 4, it'll look great, you silly boy.

Looking over what it actually tests , that test is crap anyway. why would it even give points for different video tag codecs. that's just plain stupid. a more realistic comparison was the circle diagram showed in some other thread. Calum Veteran Posted June 12, 2010 Veteran Share Posted June 12, 2010 I love the mockups displayed on this website and I really hope these designs make the final build. Firefox copying Google Chrome UI wise, except that the Firefox UI looks somehow like a cheesy copy of the Chrome UI. Don't like it basically. Honestly the innovation seems to be happening with Webkit and Trident. Firefox looks like a cheap hooker with new bling. In what ways do these mockups or the latest nightly release of Firefox look like Chrome?
