dnast
yeah I know. But I meant by default, is it now on the right side. Yes, it's on the right by default now. It's supposed to connect to the bookmarks button eventually, too. I've already done my complaining about that. :p I've moved mine back to the left, but it's kind of annoying that it goes back to the right after each update in the nightlies (as well as my stop/reload combo). +Frank B. Subscriber² Posted December 15, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted December 15, 2010 I get this when trying to launch Firefox 4.0 beta 8 build 1 on OS X: Both with the existing profile and a fresh profile. Minefield on the other hand continues to work.

+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted December 15, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted December 15, 2010 Ok, located the cause of the problem: I had downloaded the en-GB version at first. Replacing it with the en-US version did the trick.
Kudo
Has anyone else installed beta 8 build 1? I did a clean install and the home button is now on the right side. Not sure why. Where is that build?

DesGaiZu
my add-ons are now on the bottom left and they added a "x" to tell me i can close the add-on bar....yeah I can close it but then I can't get to my add-ons... sigh more pointless ui changes. The_Decryptor Veteran Posted December 15, 2010 Veteran Share Posted December 15, 2010 Right click on the toolbar, click Customise then click on Restore. Them being on the left is a bug due to a change they made (the "spring" was hidden, they changed that and it broke the layout until you reset it)
+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted December 15, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted December 15, 2010 Just as a heads-up: As of today the nightly builds sport the version number 4.0b9pre. Don't be too surprised if some of your add-ons break.

Kirkburn
how to patch a build? i wanna patch my firefox with https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455694 Essentially, for 99.9% of people, you can't. The description of how to do so would be so involved, it's really just not worth it: either move to nightlies and await it landing, become part of the mozilla dev community, or wait for public releases. dnast
Four severe blockers now. :( Yeah, they're all related, though. A patch has already been checked in, so hopefully they'll be gone soon. However, the "Object wrappers no longer compare equal" blocker is back again. I wish that bug would go away already, lol.
Guest mattburles
engineering teams are engaging in The Great Re-triage of all existing blockers * already 100 bugs taken off the list * focus is on cutting back feature set and shipping what we have * may move some features to be behind preferences in order to get to completion * will be able to estimate time to product completion after this could this mean that we will get firefox 4 final sooner now? still possibly in Q1 2011? i hope so :D
Brian Veteran Posted December 16, 2010 Veteran Share Posted December 16, 2010 If it ships in Q1 it'll be more like a RC, imo... Needs a bit more work.
Glassed Silver
If it ships in Q1 it'll be more like a RC, imo... Needs a bit more work. indeed... I discovered some basic function bugs that leave me wondering how it got so far to be a beta and not a nightly alpha or something. :/ Glassed Silver:mac
