Meet Firefox 4.0.1

You're the one that needs to get your eyes checked. The guy was asking for an option for Multi-Row BOOKMARKS on the BOOKMARK Toolbar. Not Multi-Row TABS on the TAB BAR. You do know there's a difference, right? Go back and re-read my post, remove your foot from your mouth, and kindly apologize to me. Thanks.

Yep. I'm this guy, and yes, I want Double BOOKMARKS bar.

Actually, I tried Tab Mix Plus a few days agay, and then, I realized that no, a tab is not a bookmark.

But I'm not sure that Gary7 should apologize, he just wanted to help. And as I sayed earlier, problem solved, with Stylish.

Unless someone can open my eyes, there is no Multi-Row Bookmarks Toolbar in TMP dev build. There is a Multi-Row Tab feature, though. Sadly, it has a conflict with TabGroups Manager. When switching between groups of tabs, the tabs sometimes shrink to a much smaller size. It seems to fix once you hit the new tab button, or possibly remove it from the bar. It seems to be related to either TabGroups Manager, or possibly TMP's Multi-Row Tab feature. Now, I need to find a toolbar button extension for new tab. Also, that stylish script for Multi-Row Bookmarks Toolbar will slow down your browsing considerably. For example you'll notice that it makes a jerky, slow animation when closing a tab. I wish the guy that made Multi-Row Bookmarks Toolbar would update his extension for Firefox 4 RC! That seems to be our only hope.

You brought up TMP not me. I was responding to your post. TMP has nothing to do with Bookmarks. There are plenty of styles here on Bookmarks,

http://userstyles.org/styles/browse/app/Bookmarks?per_page=100&sort=popularity&sort_direction=desc

You do not have to instal Stylish if you don't want to. The code can be placed in userChrome.css located in your profile. Oh and I will apologize to no one.

Did the font change in FF4? It looks different?

Its using DirectWrite for font rendering (for hardware acceleration). It looks odd at first, but I don't even notice it anymore. If you really want, you can disable it in the advance configuration.

The issue on windows 7 where the look of the border changes when you hover on a link. Some were able to reproduce it, some weren't. Some are using XP :D

well, i'm on 7 and don't see it :shifty:

I have to admit the RC1 is very good so far, and does not lag on start-up anymore, which is a big plus. Also a small hack to put the tabs next to the Firefox button and it's looking very good. I will not switch at the moment, but will definitely be using it every now and then.

I find it annoying too, and dunno why mozilla decided to move it there.

Anyway, you can use Status-4-evar addon to place the hover link where you want. :)

Ah thanks. I have it installed but disabled it quite some time ago. I'll check it out again.

Hi,

Is there a code for .css which allows to have a multirow bookmark toolbar for Firefox 4.0?

The code I used on 3.6 isn't efficient anymore, and I'm not able to create a new one.

Thank you all for this thread, very interesting :p

I know I'm off-topic, sorry. Gary, you did bring up TMP. I remembered because I thought it was weird for TMP to add a feature to support multirow bookmarks. But oh well it was an honest mistake and you were at least being helpful. (Y)

Windows 7 here, the border bug occurs only when hovering over a link when the Find bar (F3) is present.

I like your signature. :p

I did see that quite a bit during the betas.

Edit: Your signature is dynamic or it did actually crash Flash.

:shifty:

I like the new look and feel of Firefox 4 but I'm missing two things that I can't find how to do:

  • How can I hide the popup status bar and add that popup text to the addonbar (on mouse over links of course). Just that, no fancy extra stuff.
  • I like the idea of hiding the menu bar but I miss the "Tools" menu option. I'm looking for some addon (or something) to add a Tools button to the toolbar (with Firefox 4 look and feel) but can't find anything...

One welcome change though is I found I can now add pinned items whereas in 3.6.x I could not as it would only show locally opened pages instead of online ones:

This might be what you're after to fix your status bar issue:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

It's apparently incompatible with locationbar2 though.

Thank you for posting the truth. I'm not going to start some dumb internet war with someone over something so stupid, but this guy was claiming that TabMix Plus has an option for Multi-Row Bookmark Toolbars. I replied that it does not, then he replied showing a picture of the Multi-Row Tab feature in TMP circled, as if to say see, it does have Multi-Row Bookmark Toolbars! He apparently got the two mixed up, yet he can't own up to his mistake and is instead re-writing history by saying that I brought up TMP. So, once and for all, TabMix Plus does NOT have a feature for Multi-Row Bookmarks Toolbar. It does have a feature for Multi-Row TABS. Don't apologize if you don't want to, but you were still wrong and apparently can't own up to your mistake. I do appreciate the attempt at help. You can use a stylish script for Multi-Row Bookmark Toolbars, but I have found that the stylish script slows down Firefox considerably. Try closing tabs and see if they don't have a jerky animation. They are not smooth like they should be. I removed it, and now my tabs close smoothly like they should. That's been my experience, anyways. I'm still waiting patiently for the developer to update his extension for Multi-Row Bookmarks Toolbar.
