Rudy
At least, I really hope no-one is using it as their main browser (unless they're being very good about reporting and understanding bugs). Most people have a backup browser (IE on Windows and Safari on OSX) and a lot of people don't run anything critical in their web browser (It's no big deal if it breaks a few extensions or doesn't load a few sties properly) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/29/#findComment-592848914 Share on other sites

Kirkburn
Most people have a backup browser (IE on Windows and Safari on OSX) and a lot of people don't run anything critical in their web browser (It's no big deal if it breaks a few extensions or doesn't load a few sties properly) Well I suppose that is true these days. (I have all five big ones installed atm for work). Just don't want to see people saying "oh well, I'd better install another browser now" due to that kind of issue. ViperAFK
i don't think it's truly implemented yet i think people are just using an extension atm if you think it's so easy why don't you do it yourself it's not as easy as you think, with every little thing that they change brings the possibility of a bug or and issue that they'll then have to fix, it's a long and grueling process of much trial and error Have you seen his themes? He has pretty much done it himself. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/29/#findComment-592849112 Share on other sites
arrrgh
New respun nightly fixes problems with Adblock Plus development versions and it works nicely again, the new nightly build also fixed problems with some other extensions but many will still remain broken until they are updated by their owners. D2D remains broken. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/29/#findComment-592849382 Share on other sites
Udedenkz
Yeah. Adblock Plus works, although the icon is gone. Direct2D doesn't work, so I still have to use SRWare Iron for the time being. :( Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/29/#findComment-592849474 Share on other sites
jupe
Just discovered this: You can't move the bookmark button itself, but you can move both the URL bar and the search bar to the right of the bookmark button -- same effect. thanks for this tip i know a lot of people have been trying to do this, me included Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/29/#findComment-592850618 Share on other sites

Chester0
Adblock Plus does not work with the latest nightly 4.0b2pre It does with the lastest hourly, ABP 1.3a that is. bogas04
It does with the lastest hourly, ABP 1.3a that is. Build 1.3a.20100702 works on firefox latest nightly Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:2.0b2pre) Gecko/20100702 (and the above door hanger pic is installing 1.3a only...) The_Decryptor Veteran Posted July 3, 2010 Veteran Share Posted July 3, 2010 Direct2D support should be working again in this nightly. Edit: Oh yeah, calc() got more work, you can now use CSS Transformations with CSS Transitions, and support for seeking backwards with SMIL landed. Azies
Weird, does anyone know why Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 got stripped off the net? The thing works perfectly fine for me. o_O Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/29/#findComment-592851496 Share on other sites
ZonoBurk
These nightlies seem pretty stable for me. Really no point in using the 64-bit. Nothing works (flash). bogas04
Really no point in using the 64-bit. Nothing works (flash). That's the reason we find no Chrome 64bit and Opera 64bit for windows ... The_Decryptor Veteran Posted July 3, 2010 Veteran Share Posted July 3, 2010 The biggest issue with the 64bit builds, is that the crash reporter currently doesn't work. No point using the nightlies if you don't submit bug reports or can't submit crash reports. Kirkburn
Weird, does anyone know why Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 got stripped off the net? The thing works perfectly fine for me. o_O Because it wasn't finished. It hasn't been removed, they just don't want people using builds that haven't been signed off. Hence, the redirect to https://wiki.mozilla.org/Releases/Firefox_4.0b1 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/29/#findComment-592851756 Share on other sites
