LightShadow
I don't know, but everytime I do it. I get an error. Where is your Firefox located. Mine's in a Firefox Beta 2 folder in Program Files. Is yours Beta 2 too? I really don't want to reinstall but looks like I might. I have tried uninstalling fox but keeps happening. FiB3R
The shortcut I use to run it, points to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta 1\firefox.exe But in About Firefox, it does say 4.0b2 If you don't know what firefox.exe -profile is supposed to do, and everything else is ok, just leave it? arrrgh
-profile switch is used to load a specific profile (i.e. if you want to use a different profile for a beta version). It's not working for you because it also needs a path to the profile you want to create/use e.g. "firefox.exe -profile C:\Firefox" If you are trying to pull up the profile manager, use "firefox.exe -p" instead Edit: See http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=1062975 for full directions Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/55/#findComment-592981946 Share on other sites

rawr_boy81
Mark September 1 for JaegerMonkey and electrolysis on calendar :) I hope so because their communication via the minutes available is absolutely horrible - the latest minutes offer no details as to when things land etc. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/55/#findComment-592982418 Share on other sites
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted August 1, 2010 Veteran Share Posted August 1, 2010 Is DirectWrite going to be improved at all? Depends on what you mean by "improved". Firefox makes pretty good use of DirectWrite, although there are still some small issues. The_Decryptor Veteran Posted August 3, 2010 Veteran Share Posted August 3, 2010 That's Windows, and he's asking about OS X. Last time I tried (last week) you couldn't put the tabs into the titlebar on OS X (And it's doubtful Mozilla would want to, because it's a big usability problem) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/55/#findComment-592987708 Share on other sites
+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted August 3, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted August 3, 2010 Theme fixes? Simply corrections or the ability to write tabs into the titlebar? Refinements. The default theme on OS X won't have tabs in the titlebar. WigglesTheFish
Refinements. The default theme on OS X won't have tabs in the titlebar. This is what they're aiming for: <snipped> Well, that does look quite a bit better, I love the progress bars. I only wish, and have commented a few times to this effect, that Firefox would write at least partially into the title bar (ala Google Chrome) so there would be less wasted space yet still functional area for moving the browser (also, I am not sure I like having the active tab's title also written on the title bar, seems redundant). But, as The_Decryptor showed, there's at least the ability to write into the titlebar via addons (which is totally cool with me, I just want the option). The_Decryptor Veteran Posted August 4, 2010 Veteran Share Posted August 4, 2010 That's not via an addon, it's the same functionality as the Windows version uses (but you can't currently hide the window title) OS X has a smaller grab area than Windows with Aero, so there's not much space you can use while still having it remain usable (Or you could go to extreme like the Safari beta did, that was unusable) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/896934-meet-firefox-401/page/55/#findComment-592990862 Share on other sites
