GreenMartian
Jeez Microsoft (and most other companies). Stop treating your customers as criminals. The real criminals would've simply rolled back and wait a few days for a new crack to surface, or just not install the update again. Us, paying customers, are left dumbfounded that we can't reactivate. Yeah, so maybe it only affected 1% of the paying customers. That's still a lot of ****ed off people who actually respected them for making a decent OS and gave their money for it. Udedenkz
There is a service that is not always running but if you disable it, Windows will not be able to check whether it is or it is not activate / genuine. I forgot which one it is though. All you have to do it enable it and restart. steelcurtain
KB971033 update is almost 3 months old, I installed that on 2/18/10. You'd think that would have caused problems before now! soldier1st
You mean this one that clearly states it is updating the system to check for cracks?!? no,that one clearly states about wga and has been around awhile(i hid it right away so it would not be installed even though it was optional) but the latest patch tuesday had 3 updates(1 was optional) so one of the 3 must of had it. it's the only explanation there is. Auditor
one thing everyone is forgetting and is most annoying is that this WGA will check window OS copy after every 90 days. So this is totally BS and crap. There are lots of method which works to bypass activation without any issue at all. MS is not able to recognize my copy as non genuine and is creating problem for people who legally paid to use their product. its so bad from MS part.
