How to modify the color of your official Neowin signature in Photoshop

Recommended Posts

Hello Neowinians, today i'm going to tell you how to modify the color of your official Neowin signature in Photoshop.

1. First off, Save the signature to the desktop (Easy to find).

You can find your official signature under your signature settings:

2. Open Photoshop, then open your image. (I am running Photoshop CS4)

3. Go to the Image button, then press Adjustments, then desaturate (If required, for Member signatures it is not required, but for Subscribers ETC it is needed.)

4. Again press the Image button, then Adjustments and finally Color Balance.

5. Move the sliders around to your liking, as you can see this changes the color.

6. For my signature I increased the brightness, to do this go to Image, Adjustments and Curves.

Moving the curve down increases the darkness, moving the curve up increases the brightness.

Once you have done, press Ok.

Then Save your image as a PNG.

I've uploaded my image to IMGFTW.NET, it is great for image hosting yes.gif

Then change your signature to the image and your DONE!

Thanks for reading.

EDIT: Please note that you should not use any of the standard staff colors or it will be removed ;)

Or just get the PSD.

I find this way easier (For me personally.) Because with the PSD I have to download the font, PSD and then change all the colors by hand, I just find moving a few sliders easier.

An alternative - (easier imo) method would be to:

1. Press Ctrl+U for Hue/Saturation adjustments.

2. Tick colourize

3. Adjust hue to different colours and the saturation up if need be :)

Lol.

Depends on how lazy the user is -- I was rushing thru. ;)

It's still hasn't got the high quality light and darkness Photoshop gives. I'm glad I switched to PS.

I just got Timan to do mine. Much easier.

:p
