Smallville offers an exciting glimpse of what's to come for Clark Kent in the show's final season with the October 8 return of V's Laura Vandervoort as Clark's cousin Kara, who has been MIA for almost two years. "Kara returns in a very heroic way," Laura tells me. "When I found out this could be my last episode, I thought it would be great to see a quick glimpse of her in the uniform before she takes off." Lucky Laura's getting her wish!

"You really see her as Supergirl," says exec producer Kelly Souders. "Not the whole outfit, but her wardrobe will have evolved even a little more than Clark's. She's less Kara and way more Supergirl." Watch for Kara to don her new look for a photo shoot after she becomes a media darling following a heroic save that reveals her flying capabilities to the world. To protect her superhero identity, "You'll see Kara in the [brunette] wig and glasses [as] a bit of an homage to her other identity from the comics, Linda Lee Danvers," Laura says.

Might Clark be inspired to further define his own blurred personas? Souders hints, "Kara has a lot of input down the road in Clark's transformation into Superman."

The show has gotten so far fetched, I can't stand to watch it anymore! I'd rather read the comic book version.

My wife even prefers Ghost Whisperer over Smallville any more, and she was HUGE fan of Smallville at the beginning. That's probably why they moved Smallville to Fridays. So it wasn't competing with GW.

Maybe I should go back to doing drugs, so I could figure this junk out!!

I was sort of hoping Michael Rosenbaum would return to the show to reprise his role as Lex Luthor; however, that won't be the case. From what I've read, Michael has moved on from Smallville for good. If you've been up-to-date with the show, you'd know that

Lex Luthor is still alive (but badly hurt from the explosion set by Green Arrow)

. Maybe this will give the writers a little incentive to focus on other bad guys (e.g. Brainiac, Doomsday, etc).

As seen in this exclusive image from the Season 10 premiere of The CW?s ?Smallville,? a piece of Clark?s destiny ? his true love, Lois ? is in danger of going up in flames when someone lashes her to a cornfield crucifix.

The image harkens back to the very first season of ?Smallville,? when local boy Jeremy Creek ? and then far-from-local boy Clark himself ? got ?hung up? by some overzealous pranksters.

Take a closer look (as I did, ahem), then read on?.

What?s interesting to note is the slightly different mood to this ?crucifixion? image versus the one that hit EW.com on Friday. There, Lois appeared distraught, her mane matted by fear/dread; here, she almost seems ascendant.

Maybe a super friend is just out of frame, heroically carrying her to safety? (I?m just spitballing, of course.) Whatever the case, I?m pretty sure my MacBook Pro here just got new desktop wallpaper.

You all have weeks to speculate on just how Lois? apparent predicament plays into the season premiere, which is titled ?Lazarus.? ?Smallville? returns for its final run on Friday, September 24, at 8/7c. Be there.

Sources confirm to me exclusively that Alan Ritchson has signed on to reprise his role as Arthur ?AC? Curry (a.k.a. Aquaman) during November sweeps.

AC was last seen in season 8, when his secret identity was discovered by LuthorCorp. I?m told the Justice Leaguer will resurface in this season?s ninth episode.

They go backwards with the suit... Yeah it's Superman's thing. But it doesn't mean the 50's, please... They try to make Smallville so 21st century and then screw it with this suit deal at the end. If he wears a suit, I'm happy. But the idea that it's in a crystal hanging up... :s

the suit they are using is from the 2006 movie it is not 50s style

Damn, Allison Mack is only in a few episodes? Cry. Ah well, at least she's back.

And they are going to do Darksied justice, or totally drop the ball with him like most villians?

And the last line, we all know how the Superman legend ends....shouldn't that be begins in this instance really? Still, Lex should be there. Even if they have to recast the role, period. Lana isn't integral to Superman at all (or Clark for that matter). Lois is, Lex is, Martha Kent is.

WHAT THE ****???

Last picture of Lois, a blad dude stood in front of her? Please let it be Lex, he HAS to come back in some form, if just to say "I'm still alive"...

As for the suit... I read a very interesting article when the last film came out. It was from a costume designer, who was a bit miffed at people saying the suit was a throwback to the 50's style. He felt it was very modern, using carbon style materials, etc - but just because the colours were slightly darker and more "realistic on film" people called it retro.
