Steven P. Administrators Posted July 16, 2001 Administrators Share Posted July 16, 2001 He should boot to safe mode, un-install the nVidia drivers from Add/Remove software, reboot and then install the original drivers he got from Asus (on the CD) then he can look on the Asus site for updated drivers. I use (in WinME/Win2k) Asus latest beta drivers that are based on Detonators v12.60 and they are great! Asus can be found at http://www.asus.com.tw hope this helps! ps: I have a V7700 so I wouldnt know the default driver for his card Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/91-asus-geforce2-v7100mx-driver-problem/ Share on other sites

davjak
Thanks for that Neobond. It sounds like you've had to do something similar or know someone who has done it :p I've passed it on so hopefully this will work for him. Thanks again. davjak
Mate is going to try your idea Neobond. If that dont work he's gonna format. So lucky him gets to backup 40gig of stuff just to fix vid card drivers. He reckons its prob becuase he has installed so many drivers for it over the last few months. Tikimotel
Somehow the install procedure messes up previous Asus/Nvidia, registry settings. Want to get these (Asus 12.90) to work really well, install clean. btw. everytime you open/change settings within the "additional properties" panel, forcegenericCPU will be set to "1" and thus disabling your 3DNow! and or MMX/SSE enhancements! :s Try Regedit or lastest beta of NVMAX(3.00.18) to correct/check this. ;) (sorry some typo's) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/91-asus-geforce2-v7100mx-driver-problem/#findComment-1999 Share on other sites
