Neowinian
If you received a xbox newsletter via email yesterday then you would of received the new xbox 360 'slim' wallpapers. If you are not subscribed to the newsletter I have posted them below. They come in two sizes, 1024x768 and 1280x1024. They can also be resized in photoshop, image quality will hardly be lost unless it is a extremely big scale up or down. 1024x768 1280x1024 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1024x768 1280x1024 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1024x768 1280x1024 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1024x768 1280x1024 http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac80/almason7/XboxWallpaper_1280x1024__0008_com11.jpg?t=1276628462 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1024x768 1280x1024 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1024x768 1280x1024 http://i887.photobucket.com/albums/ac80/almason7/XboxWallpaper_1280x1024__0004_com6.jpg?t=1276628637 Hedon, Andrew Lyle, LightShadow and 2 others 5 Share

Redacted
Those picture really do show of the beauty of the console though. (Well I think it looks nice) Thanks for the share , I didn't get that email... Instead I got an email that was supposed to go out to some Spanish player? :/ --- EDIT: Hmmm, I did get that email after-all, however it was acknowledging some other gamer and all worded in what I think is Spanish. Strange.

Skulltrail
Gorgeous console and wallpapers (especially the power button closeup). What's that small tray in the bottom right? Is that for the memory unit? At first I thought it was for the game discs but M$ wouldn't dare shrink the games to GameCube-size. :p

Chasethebase Reporter Posted June 16, 2010 Reporter Share Posted June 16, 2010 Unfortunate that they're in such small resolutions. Almost everyone is running some form of widescreen display. They should have just put one as 1920x1200 and one as 1600x900 (Or something similar). Nice wallpapers though. Thanks for sharing. (Y)
what
Oh man, get out of the stone age and provide at least one widescreen format, please...
Neowinian
Oh man, get out of the stone age and provide at least one widescreen format, please... Thats Microsoft for you, but you can easily edit them in photoshop for you desired size if you have it.
Skulltrail
BTW, these wallpapers are all 1024x768 and 1024x819. There are no higher resolutions, despite what the OP declares. If the OP could please upload the ORIGINAL wallpapers (better yet, link to your source), that'd be nice.
Lazure
I don't know why the hell wallpaper creators still only create for old fashioned, outdated resolution. I don't know a SINGLE IDIOT that still uses 1024x768. There are people who still use 1280x1024 on a lot of those non-widescreen LCD panels, but come on.. most of the world's moved to widescreen now. Every laptop you buy, and every monitor you buy today.. is WIDESCREEN. Why on earth, in 2010, do wallpaper creators still max out their wallpapers on resolutions I was using in the mid to late 90s? The only wallpaper website that fully supports HD widescreen resolutions on a vast majority of the wallpapers.. is interfacelift. I go to deviantart, and I see PLENTY of good wallpapers.......... for 4:3 or 1280x1024 type resolutions... and the widescreen ones are usually only 1280x800 or 1440x900 and crap like that. and no.. don't tell me to just upscale it in Photoshop or whatever. Windows 7 already can upscale/crop low res images to fit. The whole point of having a HD wallpaper is that it'll be pixel perfect for your resolution. Stretching 1024x768 (extremely low res 4:3) to 1920x1080 (very high res 16:9) would look horrible and blurry! Hell no! Wallpaper creators need to pull their heads out of their rears and smell the 2010. I don't think it would break their damn computer to create their wallpapers in a high res and simply downscale it for their crappy monitors for themselves after they're done.. so the rest of us can enjoy well-sized wallpapers instead. I just received the same email. When you click on the thumbnails in the email to download the images, it downloads them in zip format from within your email. AbandonedTrolley
Got to love people that aren't even happy with things that are GIVEN to them..... I really do wonder about people some times. Really nice design here and looks good in the black. Strange that they have gone from matte to gloss and Sony have gone from gloss to matte. .Neo
They come in two sizes, 1024x768 and 1280x1024. Apparently Microsoft still thinks we all use 15~17-inch desktop monitors? Really nice design here and looks good in the black. Strange that they have gone from matte to gloss and Sony have gone from gloss to matte. How is that strange? Microsoft and Sony aren't the same company.

Hedon
The only people I know that run 1024x768 is the NHS on their numerous pitifully small and low quality screens... There are 10s of thousands of Hilton Hotel workstations around the world, and most of them run 1024x768 because that is what the property management system only supports. I am sure millions still use that dimension. However, I am betting most hardcore Xbox gamers that would want an Xbox Wallpaper will most likely have a higher res.
