  1. 1. Who is winning the final game

Man, so close but so far.

Regardless, AMAZING final game. I have not seen defense like that since my Knicks of the early 90's. Damn they really let them play.

And seriously, gotta love Ron Artest having the game he had. The Lakers took a huge chance on him, and I think that is extremely evident by him thanking his psychiatrist after the game  but it is pretty impressive what he was able to do since Kobe had an off night.

Oh well, really would have been great to see the Celtics win for the Eastern Conference, but as I said damn good game, and finals overall actually. One of the better ones in a long time actually.

Rest of the NBA suck harder.

If you hate the two teams in the finals so much, and think all other teams suck hard. Find a new sport to watch. I honestly only watch the NBA playoffs and a few occasional regular season Hawks games - plenty for me. Just saying, as a sports fan - if you hate the whole league and all teams in it you might consider finding a new passion.

I lived 30 years in MN, so I was rooting for KG and the Celtics. But they basically stunk most of the 4th and deserved to go down.

Congrats Lakers.

PS. Was that like a great defensive game or one of the worst finals games you've ever seen? Incredibly sloppy, to me. Fun to watch, I guess, but for a Game 7, sloppy on both sides. At least the refs let them play which was refreshing.

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes it was sloppy offensively, but and exciting nonetheless. glad to see the lakers finally win a game 7 finals game against the celtics. now the lakers are over 500 in finals appearances 31 finals 16 wins 15 losses. definitely the greatest franchise in nba history only have missed the playoffs 5x in their history 17 total championships 1 NBL 16 BAA/NBA. bet you couldn't even tell by this post i was a laker fan hehe!!!!!

So ya think Phil Jackson's gonna take a pay cut now?

It's going to be a fun off-season. I will be glad when July 1 gets here so Labron can decide where he wants to go. I'm so tired of hearing about it. Mr. Over-Rated prima donna with ZERO titles. Kobe just keeps adding to his total. 5 and counting...! 1 more to tie MJ.

:)

Say Queensbridge. Say Queensbridge!

Just enjoying this run, longtime Laker fan, suffered through the early 90's, and if anyone questions my fandom (ie., bandwagon), I have an autographed Nick Van Exel jersey,.. lol. Had to turn the game off at the star of the 3rd when it seemed like Kobe was going to one-man kill the team with horrid shots. Turned it back on just before they tied it in the 4th. Yay.

Now to trade Bynum and Morrison for a sign-and-trade Chris Bosh, and cement the next three titles (Kobe, Gasol, Artest, and Odom are all signed for the next three years).

I don't like basketball. I just watch it because the World Cup games are on another time zone.

Damn Lakers. I hate that team and the only player that I like there is Gasol. It was a great game. Both teams played great defense.

Ok I just read this here? "Rondo = Piece of **** player. Nate Robinson is better." That guys is a great point guard and his court vision is amazing. He needs to work with his jumper and free throws and he will probably be the next Jason Kidd/Steve Nash.

That guy doesn't know anything about basketball. Rondo will be a great PG in this league, like you said he just needs to work on getting the perimeter part of his game improved.

I hate the Lakers so much it makes me sick. I watch a lot of NBA basketball and one of the things I noticed is the plan for the Lakers - and I'm not knocking it just pointing it out - is that in the 4th quarter they go to the free throw line A LOT. The bonus rule in the NBA where after the 5th team foul you shoot free throws the rest of the quarter really plays to the Lakers' favor. That killed Boston tonight. Celtics went to the line 17 times, Lakers 37. That's a major disparity. Overall, this was a terrible Finals. Terrible play from both teams on any given night. I'm sure ESPN will make this an Instant Classic though, since they broadcasted it. no.gif

As for Kobe - he's the greatest "me first" player in NBA history. He damn near shot his team out of the championship tonight and he's fortunate he had Gasol, Fisher, and hell even Artest there. Funny, they won IN SPITE of Kobe. Gasol definitely was Finals MVP.

Completely agree. Kobe almost threw away the championship tonight. 6-24 FG, that is bad and he was taking bad shots. The dagger was Artest 3 point, that was the play of the game. Gasol was my MVP too.

heheh, showing my age there... ;)

Well, in my opinion that's a good thing. I'm 30 and growing up, the NBA was so much more quality than it is now. You think Kobe Bryant could survive in the late 80s going against the Bad Boy Pistons like Jordan did? Would LeBron be able to handle the Knicks of the early to mid 90s who would never hesitate to put him on his ass? No way.

He wouldn't survive, back then EVERY team was a challenge. They all had their own set of "Marquee/Allstar" players. It was alot more physical then too yes. Even jordan knew this and upped his game by gaining muscle weight, else the Knicks/Pistons would have their way with him and completely limit his game. Speaking of the Pistons, Daly till this day is one of my fav coaches. He flipped the game on the NBA. What a team those Pistons were then. Laimbeer ftw! Isaiah/Dumars/Rodman... forget about it. lol Every single game as a great game then too.

I hate the Jordan comparisons. Kobe will never be a Jordan, no one will. The man broke records while playing with the Flu for crying out loud. We're lucky we even got to see the man play as we did. Jordan was an intelligent player with the skills to back them up. He'd analyze every game realtime and adjust. He'd break down opponents mentally. Even through halftime, he;d send messengers to the opposing locker rooms. He was epic lol. He really did win every single game. Kobe's not able to do this. Tonight was a prime example of this. 'Rebounds he said..' lol right. Lucky for him the Celtics couldn't but a bucket and chocked in the fourth as they have all season.

We can go on and on.. but truth it, the game then required constant evolution. Today, it's all the same. Players today aren't

I know enough to see that Rondo sucks. That's why his team lost.

Funny, I recall Rondo keeping them alive in the 3-4th. Practically making every hustle play. Not to mention his 3 that gave them a shot after the laker dagger. He seemed like the only player with a pulse through the whole game on that Celtic team.

Celtics lost cause of the Celtics. Typical 4th Q choke artists.
