Jimmy0
I only watched up to, and about 5 minutes after the penalty/red card incident. But clearly Ghana didn't play that well if they weren't able to capitalise against Australia's ten men! +hedleigh Subscriber² Posted June 20, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted June 20, 2010 Please excuse my ignorance of the rules, but handball is counted if it hits you anywhere on the arm? Looked to me like it hit him on the upper arm, 3 inches to the left it would have got him on the chest. Not complaining about the decision, just wondering what the rules are.??:) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/912030-wc2010-game-25-ghana-vs-australia/page/3/#findComment-592784804 Share on other sites

Normally a handball in the penalty area will get you a yellow. ?If you did was Kewell did which is move his arm towards the ball to stop it from going in, what was worse he was on the line, you'd get a red. ?Vidic in the Germany Serbia match got a yellow card for handball because the ball was going across the penalty area. ? Sometimes players need a bit of luck when it comes to handballs and the penalty area, I've seen some given when players had tucked there arms in then the ball gets fired at them. Thanks for clearing that up for me Shibby, much appreciated. Who said you don't learn something new everyday. :)? And you're right, he did appear to move toward the ball.
