 Bimmer

True, they do mess up a few of them. Take Jaguar, for example. We pronounce it "Jag-ewe-er", and they pronounce it "Jagwahhhhh". :p

Can someone explain the used car dealership to me? If there is a certain car I want and its not listed do I have to wait for it or what? Does not make a lot of sense to me as to why I can just go buy any car I want like Forza, no matter if its premium or not.

Yep, that seems to be the case. If the car you want isn't a premium car, you have to wait for it to turn up in the used dealership.

really? driving at 200kms an hour and you car is going to stay super smooth at all times?

because when me and my buddies were ripping his 2010 7 series beemer at 220 the thing was shaking like hell but was still smooth (i know it sounds contradictory, but that car has AMAZING handling for a beast that big).

The car shakes yes but your head doesnt, your head isnt attached to the car chassis.

We do, but much like your country we have regional accents, not everyone talks like "what what tally ho! pass the tea and scones" like every stereotypical British person in every American/Canadian TV show. You cant take the English language, butcher it with Americanisms, and then tell us we are saying things wrong.

Although whenever I hear Cheryl Cole and her annoying Geordie accent, or when I just hear any chav in general, I sometimes wish we did all talk like that stereotype. :p

I was reading some complaints about the way the car upgrading process is handled and the UI being lackluster compared to Forza, confirm/deny?

Forza's UI Design and Upgrading Processes is far better than GT5. However I am getting used to it but I do prefer the Forza UI better.

Is it only Americans that call them "Bimmers"? I've always heard them being called "Beemers" over here.

Beemers for us, Bimmers for them it would seem.

spelling it that way never made sense to me... you pronounce it bee-mer not bim-mer

 In writing it's "Bimmer"

Beemer makes more sense... LOL

It's spelled Bimmer worldwide. However, it's pronounced Beemer. If you are talking BMW motorcycles (original BMWs, those were referred to as Beemer). I subscribe to Bimmer Magazine ;)

Some interesting stuff here folks:

Kazunori Yamauchi has been fielding questions from fans on Twitter over the past few hours. The tweets are in Japanese, but with a little help from Google and medhi_san, we can get a pretty good idea of what he?s talking about. Here?s the highlights:

  • Flexible camera angles and ?dynamic and wide-area lighting needs? are to blame for the sometimes blocky shadows. Yamauchi admits they are a problem and wants to improve them.
  • Yamauchi appears to consider the possibility of removing the in-game HUD (heads-up-display features) at some point in the future.
  • To unlock the Red Bull X1, you?ll need to complete the ?Sebastian Vettel Challenge?, which appears at Level 30.
  • Online ?lounge? functionality and other features will be added ?one by one?.
  • Polyphony Digital continues to work on fully supporting the Logitech G25 and G27, though Yamauchi admits he would like a ?new steering device soon??
  • Mechanical damage options will be implemented in a new update for GT5 coming ?early December?.
  • As you may know, many players noticed that GT5?s face-tracking functionality only worked in Arcade mode. According to Yamauchi, it?s not available in GT mode due to memory issues with the PS3.
  • In-game rewards (such as the monetary prize in GT5 Prologue) for your performance in online events is something Polyphony Digital is considering, and may be implemented in a future update.
  • Gran Turismo 5?s official, 2-disc sound-track will be released soon.
  • Yamauchi wanted to implement a ?free roam? gameplay mode in GT5, where players could drive around, respecting speed limits and obeying traffic laws, and even exit the car to walk around and explore the environment on foot.

As always, it is refreshing and exciting to see Yamauchi?s interactions with fans via Twitter. Let?s hope the medium continues to be a valuable open line into Polyphony Digital as GT5 to evolves!

canada uses the same english as britian does, and i have friends from the "old country" but ot's the slang that gets me. I love how in lock stock and in other guy Ritchie movies they actually sub title it.
