I done it earlier after doing the intermediate mercedes school, earned quite a bit.

And yes, it hurt laugh.gif

Yeah I am like halfway through that intermediate mercedes school, definitely finding it near impossible to get Gold, so just settling on Silver, and even that is starting to prove challenging, so been settling on Bronze with one or two, but am definitely going to go back and get Sliver on those.

Are you using wheels or controller, I find going manuel on wheels works for me to get gold. But very few of them, I also am getting either bronze or silver.

Only have a controller right now. I may be getting a wheel for Christmas, so we will see. I have gotten gold here and there on some events, but definitely more of a consistent silver type of player. Thinking if and when I get a wheel, it may be easier to get gold.

It makes a hell of a lot easier with wheels, too bad for me I do have one but don't have the time or place to use wheels. I might get Playseats Evolution next year, not a diehard fan of racing but I would like to drive comfortable (yes even racing car).

That is sweet! My brother in law is getting one of these type of seats, almost all he plays is GT5 an Forza 3, so it is a good investment for him, he may even try building his own. He is trying to figure out his best options.

I was thinking about building one, I also had a eye on a bucket seat of 2001 Acura at the local junk yard. It was little torn but workable (apparently the car engine was only ft. & half thick :s ), the only problem was wielding the joints (don't have torch).

I have that exact seat with the DFGT wheel. Nothing like it. The experience is top notch.

This may be a nice compromise...

Thanks for sharing. I am skeptical to say the least, but also strangely intrigued. If I do not wound up getting a wheel for Xmas, I may very well look at one of these. My big thing about the wheel is it costs so much (it was at one point $99, now retailers jacked it up to $130 or higher when GT5 was released which is BS), and as much as I am enjoying GT5 now, for a game I very well may stop playing once I either lose interest or another game comes out, it is just way to much to spend. And I say this as I have my MS Wireless Racing Wheel sitting collecting dust, hopefully Forza 4 will remedy that. So this controller is a nice alternative if it actually works. Would love to see some action videos just as the people on Kotaku were saying in the comments.

Hello guys, I don't own a PS3 unfortunately but I am a Gran Turismo fanatic.

I'm just wondering if like on previous versions you get a car if you get all gold on your license tests?

I'd like to cut the balls off of whoever did the damn Loeb Special Challenges, I did the first one on gold within the first few tries, but the damn second one, always some tiny thing getting me disqualified, I had nearly caught up the ghost you follow and smack, right before you hit tarmac for that final run I knocked a corner.

Damna annoying.

I can't even get bronze on those stupid Loeb challenges..

Turn all the driving aids off but the skid recovery or whatever it is, I've got a gold in all three now, it just takes some time to learn how to shove your cars ass round a corner properly, braking properly and not overshooting corners that will smack you into a fence.

And thanks to them I get the Rally car you use, so I've gone back and its easy going through the earlier Rally races now.

I just did the Intermediate Snow Rally and was about 3mins+ infront of the other cars after the 5 races, great car, lol.

the second one is the hardest in my opinion. i just have bronze in that one. the other two like corris is just getting used to the way the car handles. i destroyed the gold time in the other two.

And the cones...

Gran Turismo 5 Standard Cars to be Upgraded to Premium

In the latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu (via AndriaSang), Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that [at least some of] GT5?s ?standard? cars will be upgraded to ?premium? models in future updates to the game. This is good news for many fans who may have initially been disappointed their favorite car didn?t get the ?premium? treatment (with a more detailed 3D model and interior view), though we still don?t know, of course, which or how many models will actually be upgraded:

Gran Turismo 5 has a mix of gloriously detailed ?premium? cars and less detailed ?standard cars.? In an interview with Famitsu this week, Polyphony prez Kazunori Yamauchi reveals that there are plans in place to upgrade the standard cars to premium status.

The interview also sheds some light on the upcoming late December update, it seems. I?ll hopefully be getting a look at the interview for myself shortly and will report back if there?s anything else.

Nevertheless, it?s good to get another peek at what?s in store, and we?re looking forward to more news on the next December update. Thanks to a ?random person? for the tip!

Sweet! :D
