This was the final paragraph in the latest GT5 press release:

Gran Turismo 5 will contain more than 1000 perfectly recreated cars ranging from the latest supercars to the cars of NASCAR and WRC. Standing proud will be the fastest car in the game - and one of the fastest to ever leave the drawing board - the Red Bull X1. Earn your chance to drive the Red Bull X1 when Gran Turismo 5 goes on sale later this year.

Hopefully this indicates too that it might come this year...

:pinch: That guy needs to learn to drive before he's allowed to drive the Enzo again. Give him a Fiat 500. :p

So we should hear about the new release date today, yeah?

They said by the end of the month, so by all rights we should do... However whether they will or not remains to be seen!

Perhaps they will delay the announcement :p .

I just watched that rally footage. I'm not a great Gran Turismo player by any stretch of the imagination, but that guy looked like he may have been drunk. What the hell was he doing from the 1:20 mark onward? And I'm not going to lie, that invisible wall was a bit of a turn off. Minor nitpicks, though. I don't intend on hitting the wall during my races anyways ;).

Try racing while having the camera set in the view that shows what's behind you + the front of the car. The people that drive in those demos are usually trying to show off the graphics/damage done to the car, so they have to deal with adjusting the camera angle in the game while driving.

Uh they said they would announce it after Black Friday which is November 26th.

No, they said they'd announce a new date before the end of the month, and were aiming for a US launch 8 to 12 days after Black Friday.

Eurogamer and others then started predicting Dec 3rd and 8th.

8-12 days quote:

Sony's quote to announce a new date before end of October:

Here's the press release for the pre-order
Hong Kong, 1 November 2010- Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong (SCEH)(*1)today announced that the highly anticipated "GRAN TURISMO?5" (GT5) (English / Traditional Chinese version), the online car-life simulator exclusive on the PlayStation?3(PS3?)system, is set to be in stores in Hong Kong later of this year at the suggested retail price of HK$458. This is the latest installment of the "GRAN TURISMO?" series(*2).
A global server is used for managing the online functions in a standardized manner, allowing simultaneous global of contents updates. The global server also enables the in-game "Gran Turismo TV" function on GT5 Asian versions. Contents of the channels' programmes are translated into English and Traditional Chinese to be delivered near-instantly to users in Asia. Some online functions can be played by web browser through Gran-Turismo.com (www.gran-turismo.com/hk), allowing users to enjoy GT world through internet whenever and wherever at their wish.

It lists it as coming at the end of 2010, so nothing new in that area.

Some new cars on the poster that you receive for pre-ordering
