Drknzz
Hi guys! Just registered this here because i wanted to share how i finally managed t re-put W7's MBR in my HD after having wiped-out Ubuntu (I like it, but i f'd it up), it was pretty uncool having to dig around in google for hours, so here i go! 1. If u are in my same position, and have NO W7 RTM disks (And thus cant use the repair option), but DO have a W7 Beta disc, pop it in the drive and reboot your pc (Vista dvds may work as well) 2. Let the files load, and when you are presented with the Welcome screen (After choosing language), press Shift + F10 3. type in: bootrec.exe /fixmbr bootsect.exe /nt60 all /force 4. Reboot and enjoy :) Hope i put the thread in the right section :p Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/917790-windows-7-laptop-mbr-repair/ Share on other sites

strelok1911
I do the same if I install Ubuntu by partitioning. Though it works only with bootrec /fixmbr too! Mr. Gibs
I believe you can also just put in the disc and select repair ;) It will run a series of tests and fix anything thats incorrect. Good tip nonetheless for those who need it! And welcome to Neowin! hdood
You can also just do bootsect.exe /nt60 all /mbr You can also run it from within Windows, from the boot\ folder of the install DVD.
