Pathetic performance. One has to wonder how Bosignwa plays at this level and what happened to the real Essien. Ancelotti's subs were also clueless although that's hardly surprising. Never expected us to get a penalty in this competition so I'm not really bothered by that.

I'll be very surprised if we go through now.

how close did Torres get to scoring!...a ?50m goal! :p

Got close once and hit the post when he could have flicked it in. That's the best I can say in his defence.

I found Essien was the best of your team this evening. Torres is still a wandering ghost though...

Really? That performance was hardly shocking as he's been a passenger since November but Mikel is so much better that him now it's not even funny. Used to be a terrific box-to-box midfielder but apparently two injuries to his knees ruined him.

Fernando is a fantastic striker, but you can't just plonk a talented player in a team and expect them to perform, you need to work out a playing system that fits their style in. Chelsea had the same problem with Shevchenko. I feel the pressure of the price tag may be going to his head as well.

I disagree. Ronaldo at Real Madrid? Villa at Barcelona? There are plenty of example like that. Torres was a ghost before his transfert, there must be something else than just the price tag.

Hence the reason I suggested Chelsea's playing system had something to do with it... Did you bother reading my entire post? Torres wasn't in bad goalscoring form before the transfer, but to be honest he was injured a bit as well.

Hence the reason I choose these particular two examples... Did you bother reading my entire post? Torres isn't in good form, we all saw it, but I also think he doesn't make the effort to integrate his new team.

You're probably right, I haven't watched him play since the 'Pool vs Chelsea game

Rooney and Giggs. Two outstanding players and two goals.

I'm disapointed by Shalke 04, except Neuer and Farfan the others watched us play. I expect more from a team who has nothing more to play this season, who can be liberated and put up a good fight.
