AutoCAD 2008 on Windows 7 64 bit?

Question, i am about to build a new system running windows 7 64 bit. i currently use and bought AutoCAD 2008 a few years back for my company. does anyone know if this will run ok on this or will i have to better luck with it running on a windows xp machine.

It should run fine if not better on Windows 7.

Yea, Autocad 2007 upwards works fine with Vista / Windows 7.

The older versions have to be run as an administrator though or with UAC disabled.

have you tried it or just assuming. i thought it would work fine as well but didn't wanna install windows 7 64 bit on then it wouldn't install.

My dad has 2006... that's a pain to set up properly.

My brother has a copy of 2007. I just set that up for him last week. Windows says that the software is incompatible but it works just fine.

Both are 64 bit machines.

Haven't tried 2008 but i'm guessing it should work seen that they adjusted the privileges in the previous version.

just wondering if it worked for you? I need to purchase a new computer and I am also running autocad 2008 on windows xp pro now. All new computer packages have windows 7. I do not want to upgrade my autocad right now.

I would hope software written in 2008 and up would all be 64-bit compatible. If not, then the programmers of said software are completely oblivious to what is being sold in stores since 2007, or just plain stubbornly using ancient APIs or programming methods.
