Shame IE9 Beta does not have!

We know and apreciate the great work they have done, amazing actually.

But what is it still missing to be perfect? In your opinion.

I'm disapointed its missing:

  1. Spellcheck.
  2. CSS text shadows.
  3. Extensions, but unrealistic to thought IE9 get them.

There are a few things that are missing that even IE8 has, like where's the option to save my tabs? Or to restart my last tab session? Also the back/forward buttons are missing their dropdown history list as well. The option to move tabs below or above the address bar as well would be good.

Uh... yeah, I can see what you mean by the SpellCheck reference.

The Back/Forward Buttons have a drop down history. Just click on it (Don't let go)

I would like it to have a spellchecking feature, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. More CSS3 and HTML5 support is always welcome. I don't care about extensions or ad-blocking.

I love it so far, but I believe they need more consistency in their design - e.g. closing the browser should bring up an information bar (similar to the one asking if you wish to save your password), instead of a dialog asking if you wish to close all tabs or just the current. They also need to overhaul old elements, such as the 'Internet options'.

It's extremely fast, but not enough of the features we have come know and depend on with the competitors

So that's why I'm off back to Chrome

Too much wasted space at the top of the screen.

No

1: Password management

2: Live skydrive bookmark sync

I think you've covered it for the most part. Since I wasn't a huge fan of IE7 or IE8, I don't miss any of the IE specific features that others might.

Oh wow, talk about hidding it from us. I never wouldn't known, thanks.

+1

IE9Pro add-on coming soon? Adblock + spellcheck and all? Shouldn't take long.

I wish it had extensions, maybe a release on the 2nd beta/RC if there is one. Or at least spell-check, all the other browsers I think have it. It's one of the best features of Chrome.

It's the first Beta build. Why would micrisoft care about all these other little features in previous browesers that they know work. They are focusing on the bigger stuff then re-enabling the small stuff (spellcheck, ect..) afterwards.

I'm loving the Beta - this thing is super fast and loads up as quick as Chrome (Firefox still lags behind). Font rendering is a bit funny, but I can live with that. Loving the new Download Manager (though its about time they included one).

The UI has had a much needed overhaul but obviously they will tweak it before the final release. I too would like to see a Spell Checker.

I'm disappointed that QuickTabs doesn't seem to be in this release. While it was never a feature that many people used, I think it does address the shortcomings of tabbed windows with 6+ tabbed pages.

Things I don't like / are missing:

1. Please please please allow us to move the tab bar, it looks so odd this way. Or code something in which when you click on the tab, it expands to an address bar.

2. The 64bit version doesn't support jumplists / start menu lists (w/e they're called lol).

3. If someone could confirm this, entering text on neowin (only on quick reply) on IE64 seems to have a slight lag. Haven't tried the 32bit, but since this is a beta I'm expecting bugs like this lol.

4. Quicktabs.

5. The tiny white space below the top bar and the page.

6. Maybe make the back button full lol? Looks odd this way.

7. Smooth page scrolling. If I use the bar, its extremely smooth. Using a scrolling wheel, or a touchpad scroll, isn't. This is one of my favorite features in Opera, and I hope MS improves it!
