Tonight! The sequel to one of the greatest, if not the greatest, fights of 2011*, it's Shogun vs Henderson 2 in Somewhere, Brazil.

Main Card:
Dan Henderson (202) vs. Mauricio Rua (205)
C.B. Dollaway (184) vs. Cezar Ferreira (185)

Rony Jason (145) vs. Steven Siler (146)

Preliminary Card:
Diego Brandao (144) vs. Will Chope (146) - This fight got canned as the UFC cut Chope on the spot due to finding out he had a bad-conduct discharge from the USAF for domestic violence.
Ronny Markes (190)* vs. Thiago Santos (183)
Jussier Formiga (125) vs. Scott Jorgensen (125)
Thiago Perpetuo (170) vs. Kenny Robertson (171)

Francimar Barroso (204) vs. Hans Stringer (204)

*That everyone was asking for in 2012, 2013 but not so much in 2014.

Wow... wasn't expecting that finish! Shogun was all over him and easily had a 2 round lead. Really thought he was gonna take this. Not sure if Hendo has got it in him to challenge for the title, but I think this pretty much ends Shogun's chances of another shot with the upper end of the division being so stacked.

That was AWESOME! Hendo just crushed Shogun's face in. Still, I don't think he has what it takes to fight Bones. Sure, they can put it on PPV and sell it. But Bones wouldn't have let this fight get to the 3rd or even the 2nd. As for Shogun, this just might be the damage that puts him over the hedge and into retirement.

The overall card ended up being pretty cool, despite looking bland on paper.

The Pepey knee was something special. Definetely enters the flying knee Hall of Fame with the Jos? Aldo's kneee that murdered Cub Swanson.

Great, another paper tiger. So... uninjured champions are pretty much Ronda (can sell PPV), Bones (????), Mighty Mouse (can't sell a PPV to save his life) and Renan Bar?o (nop!).

Just great

Whats this a come out of retirement fight?

Damn, BJ retired twice already, didn't he?

B.J. is always 50% retired. That's when Fat B.J. shows up to fight and gets trucked by Rory and gets a draw against Jon Fitch after winning rounds.

B.J., who always had trouble making weight because he likes to pig out between fights, is now dropping to Featherweight (145lbs!) to fight Edgar. A guy he couldn't match the speed of at 155, mind you, and is even faster at 145. Oh boy, it's going to be fun. But the thing is, deep down, B.J. pulls in the views. Frankie Edgar can't sell a PPV or even a free card. B.J. can sell fights. And that's why the UFC keeps betting on him. If he can scrape by a couple of wins at FW, who knows? At least he's not prone to being always injured like the current glass cannon champions, he's just prone to get fat. Maybe they'll have nutritionist to the stars (but not really certified for it) Mike Dolce shadow him 24/7.

In other news, UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs Shogun 2 pulled almost a million viewers :|  On a free card, on Brazil time. What is this, bizarro world? (Pro tip: Henderson sells, duh! And will probably leapfrog Bjornes to get trucked by Jones and make bank for the UFC).

And the best news of the day, John Dodson vs. John Moraga is booked for UFC Fight Night in Albuquerque. YEAH! :woot:

Haha amazing, get real refs bellator!

UFC doesnt need BJ anymore though for sales, bit of a random one!

List 10 other guys than can headline or co-headline a PPV and move the needle at LW. Heck, 8. I'll wait.

Bantamweight champion Renan Barao will now face TJ Dillashaw as the new main event for UFC 173, May 24th in Las Vegas

Which is kind of ###### since Raphael Assun??o beat TJ and TJ is only on a 1 fight win streak against a downward moving Mike Easton. But, since Raphael Assun??o is injured, sometimes you gotta make chicken salad out of chicken ######. (Brock Lesnar dixit)

Heck, even Takeya Mizugaki, who is finally on a win streak, would be a better pick sportswise. PPV saleswise, doesn't matter, event is going to tank HARD.

Surprise, surprise!

Paul Harris def. Steve Carl via submission (inverted heel hook) at 1:09 of round one

Sure, invite Paul Harris into your guard WHERE HE CAN GRAB YOUR LEGS. What an idiot.
