PyX
In regards to the Launchpad: Didn't I answer the shaking thing from another post in a post a few pages back.. On my iPhone when icons shake, you can re-arrange the items. Or if it's an installed app it should have a X to delete the app (an app downloaded from app store?). I haven't installed Lion on m machine, but looks VERY nice. The UI has VERY subtle changes, and these changes make the UI look more smoother, and I like it :D. Yes, you did answer a few pages back. I forgot to answer to this. I also have an iPhone, I know what you mean. The thing is, if they shake, there?s no X button to remove them. And if they don?t shake, you can move them around and create folders. It makes the feature totally pointless. Now, is it where they?re heading, towards the exact same iPhone functionality, I don?t know, but they need to fix those issues ASAP. It?s the second most important feature according to http://www.apple.com/macosx/lion/ because it?s the second one advertised when we scroll down the page. They can?t fail this one. That's pretty pointless, I can't lie and say that I didn't laugh about that :') Are you trying to remove default applications? I don't see why making a cross and making them deletable if it's like an app downloaded from app store hard. I mean it's not like it has a lot of items to remove... I don't see why making a cross and making them deletable if it's like an app downloaded from app store hard. I mean it's not like it has a lot of items to remove... Ugh?. I?m not sure to understand that part, but they could definitely make an X button to remove them, and ask us if we want to delete the entire application or just the alias in the LaunchPad. It would make an uninstaller at the same time, the uninstaller OS X never had. By the way, I?ve seen a section in the Help of Lion called "Applications > Installing and Uninstalling Applications", but when I click on it, it leads me to a page that it cannot find. I don?t know if it?s a sign that Lion will have an uninstaller included with it, but it?s about time. .Neo
Obviously? I knew what I installed, and I expected nothing more from it. However, I said that "it annoys me simply because it works perfectly on my MBP." In other words, it's a pity it didn't work as well on my iMac, since it works perfectly on the Book. Now, I think that's quite logical, whether it's pre-release or not. Different Macs use different drivers, could very well be related to that. It being pre-release software and all... Personally I don't think it's very logical to be disappointed with an unfinished product. .Neo
Damn it, they got rid of the new slider tab style system-wide... I really liked that! :( Also, Nidoking, I still see the classic Downloads window, how did you do? By adding and clicking the Downloads toolbar button? Pretty cool they added a progress bar to the toolbar button when downloading something. The Dock would be a better place though (like the App Store). I'm not in any aspect disappointed with it, and I'm well aware of it being unfinished. I had or have no expectations of it, simply a humble annoyance. It doesn't matter, anyway. PyX
@Neo: It's the first thing I've tried and I haven't seen that. It was rhere by default with the previous build, but it would show the classic downloads window. I believe the french NIB file's causing the problem. .Neo
What exactly do you mean? Could you direct me to a screenshot from an earlier built where this is shown? Look on the previous page at the Finder screen shot. It shows the Lion's new slider styled tabs/toolbar buttons (icon view toolbar button). They changed it back to the classic style we see today in Mac OS X Snow Leopard, obviously to fit the new Aqua but still. Now I see. I was thinking the screenshot Pyx posted was from the most recent build... On screenshots and videos. And it only seemed logical to me. But I might be wrong, of course, and the actual experience sucked big time... iKenndac
I'm undecided. It worked kinda well when you had more than two tabs, but when you only had two tabs it completely fell apart - the darker tab was actually the one that wasn't selected, which is opposite to both all previous versions of Mac OS X and other controls in Lion. Good point there. But then again, the user would be "trained" after a while to recognize the lighter one to be the one selected. But that's not really the point of UX-design so yeah, good point. .Neo
I'm really hoping Apple will get their act together when it comes to the window animations. I really don't get where they're going with this. The latest DP update is still as unpredictable in this area as the first first build. I'm undecided. It worked kinda well when you had more than two tabs, but when you only had two tabs it completely fell apart - the darker tab was actually the one that wasn't selected, which is opposite to both all previous versions of Mac OS X and other controls in Lion. Not entirely true. Darker tabs also indicate non-active in Safari for example. Beyond that using Mac OS X Lion for few minutes and you'll learn. Anyway, I liked the new style because it was a very fresh and cool approach. Loved the slider animation too. Right now we're back to the same old dull stuff we have had for years. It's a shame really. Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/947186-mac-os-x-lion-discussion/page/56/#findComment-593945884 Share on other sites

However, holding an app make them "jiggle", but I don't see any X button to click on. Maybe it's because I have it in French?
